It was launched quietly, and features, among other things, a quick straight-to-camera chat about what’s happening legislatively in the Council.

Sort of like the mayor’s weekly radio show with John Gambling on Fridays, except quicker, and with visuals.

There’s been a movement among some – not enough in my opinion – elected officials to use the internet for something other than posting press releases. Tom Duane did entertaining podcasts; Betsy Gotbaum and Bill Thompson posted videos of their press conferences.

Quinn’s blog offers a link to a multimedia section, where there seem to be plans for live webcasting of Council hearings, and archived videos of public events.
