ALBANY—Remember the Latino Caucus?
State Senator Ruben Diaz Sr. just told me that he will be chairing it. It was originally promised as a plum to State Senator Hiram Monserrate, according to reports, when he cut a deal to back Majority Leader Malcolm Smith and trim the gang of four to a gang of three.
Then it was reportedly set to go to Martin Malave Dilan, of Brooklyn.
"I'm very happy, I'm satisfied," Diaz said, sounding his familiar refrain.
