A Quinnipiac poll (which will be posted here shortly) of 1,047 New York State voters shows that 63 percent of them don’t know enough about Kirsten Gillibrand to have an opinion of her.
Of the remaining New Yorkers, Gillibrand has a favorability-unfavorability rating of 25-10 percent.
Registered Republicans support Gillibrand’s selection as senator 56-27 percent, compared to registered Democrats, 41-35 percent.
The poll, conducted between January 23 and January 25, also found that nearly half the respondents blame Caroline Kennedy and her aides rather than David Paterson for the controversy surrounding her candidacy for the seat Gillibrand won.
Twelve percent blame both sides, and 24 percent were undecided.
