Brad Lander got a labor endorsement in his bid to replace City Councilman Bill de Blasio, who is vacating his seat in Brooklyn to run for Public Advocate.
The campaign released a statement from the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1500 and says it’s “the first labor union endorsement in a 2009 City Council race.”
I can’t vouch for that, since there’s a lot of jockeying going on without much coverage, but it does seem early.
If you need a refresher, Mike McLaughlin has a good wrap-up of who’s running in this district.
