Mayor Blames Jersey for Sweet, Sweet Smell

In a crowded City Hall press conference just now, the mayor said a mysterious "maple syrup" smell, reported around the city numerous times since 2005, comes from a "fragrance and food additive factories in Bergen and Hudson Counties in New Jersey."

The sweet smell has been documented tirelessly since 2005 by local blogs and previously addressed by authorities, but no explanation has ever been offered, other than that it was not harmful.
