More fun drama from last night’s Council-race debate in Howard Beach:
In this clip, candidate and businessman Mike Ricatto reminds the audience that one of his opponents, Eric Ulrich, is a “Republican Party official” and asks what experience he has “in these fiscally challenging times.” (The debate, like the Feb. 24 special election, was officially nonpartisan.)
Ulrich, who is 24, eats up the question.
“My experience has been in civics, it’s been in the community, it’s been with people,” says Ulrich, before getting animated. “I was studying for the priesthood at one time. So, I’ll have you know, my dear friend, that there’s a lot more to being a Councilman than being a businessman.”
Ulrich got a standing ovation.
