Miramax’s Bob Weinstein Sells His Fifth Avenue Co-Op

BOB WEINSTEIN MAXES OUT HIS FIFTH AVENUE CO-OP

Miramax Films co-chairman Bob Weinstein has sold his nine-room duplex penthouse on Fifth Avenue in the East mid-60′s for around $3.6 million.

Mr. Weinstein hadn’t lived in the 3,500-square-foot co-op apartment for long. As a matter of fact, most of the time he’d owned it, it had been in renovation. The apartment runs for 32 feet along Fifth Avenue; it’s on a corner and has two bedrooms, a terrace and, of course, a view of the park. Maintenance is $5,753 per month; he put it on the market in April. A spokesman for Miramax confirmed the sale.

Before Bob Weinstein owned the apartment, it was the residence of Jean Nidetch, the founder of Weight Watchers, who, according to a visitor to the apartment, had decorated it “like a whorehouse,” with lots and lots of white marble. Another, kinder broker described it as, um, “memorable, very modern.” Maybe it was unrecoverable!
