Bloomberg on the Presidential Electability of Mayors

In an interview on Seattle radio a few minutes ago, Michael Bloomberg responded to a question about whether it's "time for a mayor to run for president” by saying, essentially, maybe.

“As you know,” he said, “mayors have to make decisions and that sometimes makes you unelectable because you actually stood for something and you can’t be on both sides of an issue. But I don’t know that I think that. I do think that what you’re seeing here is strong mayors like [Seattle mayor] Greg Nichols and, I hope, Mike Bloomberg, along with governors from--other mayors and governors from around the country standing up and addressing the problems that Washington seems unable to address.”
