Bloomberg Offers a Secular Lession at Prayer Breakfast
Here's Michael Bloomberg offering a reflection at the close of his prayer breakfast yesterday morning.
Describing what his father taught him about charity, Bloomberg told the crowd, “He said, ‘Because, if any group is left out, then we’re all going to be left out.’ And I’ve never forgotten that lesson. And I think it’s a good ways to end this. Happy New Year everyone.”
One random observation: It was, among other things, an example of Bloomberg's resolutely secular style, which would make him would make him somewhat unusual in the context of the presidential field, should he decide to run. Other candidates have found ways to weave faith into their rhetoric (and clothing) when speaking in public. Bloomberg doesn't, even at a prayer breakfast.
