Clinton vs. Media Hype in Iowa
The Wall Street Journal today wrote, “In two recent polls of likely Iowa caucus-goers, Sen. Clinton was slightly ahead in one, but her chief rival, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, had retaken the edge in the other. A decisive Clinton victory in Iowa potentially could clinch the nomination; a loss, or even a close call, makes her vulnerable in the states that follow.”
Such analysis, in the view of one of Clinton's top fund-raisers, may be a greater threat to her campaign than any of her opponents.
Robert Zimmerman, a Democratic National Committeeman and major Clinton supporter, said that the media was setting her up for a fall, and that the idea that Hillary Clinton is a front-runner losing ground in Iowa “is the greatest fiction of the entire presidential race.”
“Senator Clinton started out in third place in Iowa," he told me. "A distant third place. Governor Vilsack told me, when he declared support for her, that she was in a distant third in Iowa. Obviously it’s going to be a close race. It always was and will be a close race. I think too many of the Clinton supporters took this nomination for granted and I think for the Clinton supporters this is a powerful wake up call. But the real issue here is not how Senator Clinton does in comparison to Edwards and Obama. The real issue here is how does Hillary Clinton do compared to media expectations. That’s her competition in Iowa. Not Edwards and Obama. Media expectations. I think she is showing a lot of courage by focusing on Iowa, staying in the race in Iowa, and campaigning there, versus Giuliani and McCain and others who have simply walked away from the race in Iowa.”

It seems not to bother anyone associated with the Clinton campaign to guild the lily a bit (or a lot?) and report half-truths. I'm an Iowa voter. I don't pay too much attention to polls. If she was in 3rd place, it would have been a long while back, behind Edwards who has practically lived here for the last 3 years, and fmr Governor Vilsack, who sadly has proven that he can also be bought. Having his entire campaign debt paid off by the Clinton machine, he's not hesitated to tell whomever will listen whatever they want to hear; including me a few months ago at a rally here.
2 recent polls? Why are the media hyping only the one where Obama leads at 30% and Hillary is at 26% and not mentioning the poll where Hillary is ahead? I never knew until I read this article she polled ahead.
Why would anyone want to return Bonnie and Clyde to the Whitehouse?
Please remind "Billary" that we live in a democracy, not under a monarchy. Most of Hillary's accomplishments can be "directly" attributed to Bill (does anyone think, if not for her husband, she would've been elected Senator in a state where she had never lived....If you believe yes, then I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.
It irks me no end that she gets a free pass. Look at what happened the last time we let someone use their family name to get to the White House.
Excuses, excuses. The truth is Hillary is "inevitable" no more. The HRC campaign is slipping and worried. This sounds like damage control if you ask me.
The PEOPLE will deliver Obama to the White House

MIKHAIL KRYZHANOVSKY - U.S. PRESIDENT
DE FACTO AND 2008 VICE PRESIDENT ?
Mikhail Kryzhanovsky,KGB superspy, the author
of the "White House Special Handbook,or How to
Rule the World in the 21st Century" is the U.S.
president de facto. Since 1996, our presidents,
Bill Clinton and now - George Bush, make top
political decisions based on his instructions.
Who said he's 2008 U.S. Vice President ? Hillary
Clinton ?
Obama may win the Democratic nomination based on his honest approach to this campain. He has remained calm and calculated. He is a focused, well grounded candidate.Watch it Obama is in for a surprise to pundits. HIS HONESTY TO VOTERS IS A BIG ASSET.
Both of them are the same. All your presidents are the same, they attack and destroy to steal oil and to protect Israel. Hilary is just itching to attack Iran, and will certainly stay in Iraq. Obama threatened to attack Pakistan. Obama will stay in Iran too. Why not not just stick with President Cheney?
The PEOPLE will give you Obama? Which people? The PEOPLE at Exxon or the PEOPLE in AIPAC?
i agree that the 'bush->clinton->bush->clinton' system is a terrible thing. next we'll have laura bush campaigning in 2012.
also, hasn't anybody considered that hillary publically expressed that she didn't want to campaign in iowa? i think voters are starting to see her for the fake she really is.

The truth is that Hillary was never really inevitable. It was all just part of the script written in Penn's office, just like the binder of planted questions.
Someone remind Hillary that we ain't Russia and she ain't no Putin as she'd like to think after pulling the CNN/Las Vegas assualt on democracy.
This is still the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA where there are still enough of us whose votes cannot be bought. and we will send Billary to their rightful place: the trash bin of political history once and for all.
the media has been so kind to Obama, does anybody think this is natural/lol...i mean the guy will be totally destroyed when the republicans get thier man..black,muslim,osa-oops-obama,middlename-hussien,,,i mean, it just goes on and on...are you kidding me-what are democrats smoking?hillary has way better chance-though tough road to win.To Democrats-Yall better wake up from this expensive fantasy.
Robert Zimmerman, a New York superdelegate who backs Clinton.
I WANT TO FIX HILLARY CLINTON FOR STAYING WITH BILL WHEN SHE SHOULD HAVE DIVORCED HIM OVER:
1. HIS ANTIMASTURBATION
2. HIS CHEATING ADULTERY
ALSO IM AGAINST HER NOT LISTENING TO ME ABOUT VOTING AGAINST THE ANTI POKER BILL (PHONE CALLS, LETTERS) AND RECEIVING FUNDING FROM HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANIES WHEN THEY ARE ALREADY OVERCHARGING AND AGE DISCRIMINATING. I ALSO BELIEVE LIKE JOE LIEBERMAN THAT BILL CLINTON SHOULD HAVE BEEN IMPEACHED AFTER ILLEGALLY CHEATING ON HIS WIFE.
