Car Culture at City Hall

Michael Bloomberg isn't the only city employee who uses a gas-guzzling vehicle to get to City Hall.
Just saying.

See, this is all the more reason why non-elected proponents of congestion pricing shouldn’t support it.
The man who’s been this congestion tax’s biggest cheerleader uses two massive gas-and-ethanol guzzling SUVs just to drive to a subway station in Manhattan, and not even the nearest one! Clearly, deep down, this tax is not an environmental issue for him at all.
In fact, it always has been and will continue to be about the money, $30 billion by 2030 to be exact. If it were all really about the environment, he would be walking to the nearest subway station with a security detail on foot.
So, before all of our elected reps are strong-armed and/or tickled with glee over the thoughts of billions of new taxpayer dollars to play around with, we need to tell them no to this massive tax increase.
If you want to speak out against this tax and the hypocrisy, disingenuous arguments, and the ever-expanding Big Government qualities behind it, visit StopNYCCongestionTax.org and tell your reps today!
Any guesses how long its going to take for Fidel to come on and blast the pro-Bloomberg media, then bring up sexual harassment and abortions?
1. It isn't all the city employees who flex their chests out and tell people stories of how they ride the subway to work and how they should not use their cars needlessly.
2. City employees who have cars are not pushing for the Mayor's congestion pricing plan.
3. Most of the commuter cars (sedans) are or will be flex-fuel vehicles and while the Mayors' SUVs are flex-fuel they are some of the lowest rated ones.
4. The cars seen in the picture above and used by city workers to travel are not sitting running while they await their occupants.
if the mayor tried to walk to the subway station he would never GET to City Hall. He'd be trapped on the sidewalk, surrounded by a bitching gaggle of East Siders telling him how "hard" they have it on the upper east side. please. He's the Mayor of 8M people, he needs to get everywhere quickly. But lest you think he's not accessible just try speaking to him anywhere. Unlike paranoid ex-mayor Rudy, who looked at you like you were pointing a knife at him - Mayor Mike is personable and approachable. Its why New Yorkers overwhelmingly support him, and why the tide has now turned from the discussion about "congestion pricing" from being a "tax on drivers" to being the ONLY plan for raising more funding we need desperately for mass transit.
Did anyone ever stop to think that it may be a security issue if the mayor were to take the same route every day?
