A City Hall source told me this morning that Leroy Comrie received a security detail from the city after a Council employee's remark that a future bid for office by Comrie should be stopped, even if it takes an assassination.
The remark was made yesterday by Viola Plummer, the chief of staff to Charles Barron, after Comrie and others opted not to support a street renaming effort to honor black nationalist activist Sonny Carson.
Comrie and his district office got the additional security last night, according to the source.
