Diddy's Advice for Barack Obama
From Fox & Friends this morning:
Brian Kilmeade:
They say statistically that 18-34 belongs to Barack Obama. And he says that he’s the new generation. Have you met him? What do you think?
Diddy:
I met Barack Obama – but I think he has to say something. He has to mean something. No candidate can get away for their gender or for their race. I definitely am honored that a black man is running for the presidency. But I think that, to be honest, he has to do something for black people. I need to hear him say he is going to do something to change our lives – because we need our lives changed.

I hope Obama doesn't change Black people's lives like Combs has done - by organizing concerts at City College that kill them.
While I'm more than happy to hear Diddy weighing in on national politics, I wish he'd focus on issues closer to home:
Like when is he going to make his move and buy the Knicks?
How...exactly, does Diddy... need his life changed?
He's got it pretty rough huh?
First Obama needs to get some backbone. He can't help nobody if he is afraid to speak out!! Great, he is running, but running without saying what he can, will, or want to do is just running in place!! And Waisting Money!!!!
Wow ... I'm sick and tired of people, especially my fellow black people whining about how Obama "needs to do this and that." What do you think he's been doing? In addition to representing the entire country the man has done, lets see: for starters, the man fought racial profiling against young black men in Illinois -- not an easy thing to do for anyone that understands Illinois' history of having "sundown" towns that viciously excluded and degraded black people -- and he got the legislation to end racial profiling into law!
Obama has fought and won death penalty reform, which disproportionately affects black people -- and young black men. He consistently pushes education and will give college students a $4,000 credit for tuition -- which will help poor and young black people. He has spoken out against Jena 6 -- the first candidate of either party to do so, and is currently calling for a Department of Justice official to get fired over making racially inflammatory remarks against black Americans, particularly the elderly.
This is just a bit of it. My people, wake up, please! Quit thinking that unless YOU hear him say something addressing something you believe at that very moment he is on tv or something doesn't mean he ain't working for black people and all Americans. Do you know what he probably goes through just running for this office? Give me a break.
Some of these commenters need to "get a backbone" themselves, and a laptop, along with a newspaper to do some research before hollering this nonsense. He has the most liberal voting record of any candidate in this race, with the possibel exception of Kucinich, who doesn't have a chance.
This knee jerk subconscious racial self-haterism that is going on needs to stop ... and I gues some of you out there still think Bill Clinton was the first black president too? Quit drinking the Kool-Aid and do some research.
Just b/c Jesse and Al Sharpton are jealous that Obama also connects to white people doesn't mean that he is somehow not legit or not "standing up for us."
It was so refreshing to read your post.
Someone that pays attention to Barack and all the wonderful things he has done.
My hat is off to you.....it would be nice if the rest of the world would keep themselves informed of the FACTS and stop making up stuff to complain about!
I will be there in San Francisco to hear him talk Nov 14th. I can't wait!
Wish you could join us...:-)
I am sending you my thanks!
Sincerely,
QML
It's all about win, place, or show. Our man, Senator Obama is definitely in the running and that's the bottom line.
We, Democrats want to win, period. We want change, period.
And, of course there will always be those who's rap is "what have you done for me lately".

It sound like Diddy might be voting for someone else because Obama sure hasn't done much for the middle class has he?
Awww, poor rich diddy needs his life changed. That's what needed, someone ELSE to wait for and change our lives instead of standing up and working ourselves. How sad and destructive this dead end road is.
I totaly agreed with the writer about people complaining that Obama has not said nothing to address black issue. Thanks a lot. My big thumb up goes to you. You really real. They want to support Hillary because of Bil,l Is Bill running for president. Please people wake up and stop this complaining, that he has not done this or say this about black people. Go support Hillary and see where that will take us. May be in a mansion. When Bill was president did he solve all the black people's problem he said he was going to do. We had crime, and nothing happened. if African American think that Hillary or Bill will solve their problem think again. Please let use work hard and stop saying people should address our problem. Why can't we address our own problem instead of expecting other people to address it for us. Please people wake up. Do thing for yourself I mean aim high and stop asking for help every day.
Why can't blacks be more like white people?? Why can't blacks do anything for themselves? Why does the white man constantly have to hold the black man's hand, pat him on the head, tell him we're proud of him, build his self-esteem and wipe his ass? Can't blacks wipe their own ass? This attitude that the gov't, the white man, the world, etc has to do everything for them is so deeply ingrained among blacks that I'm beginning to think it is genetic. Are blacks mental cripples or something? What is wrong? Are they all at the level of 12 year olds? Do they all still live with their mammies?? Anglo-Saxons came here to America and we HELPED OURSELVES! We built roads, airports, automobiles, etc. We blazed trails, we set up homesteads. We passed mountains, we built cities. No government simply gave it to us on a platter the way blacks expect. I'm beginning to see the truth in the old stereotype that blacks are all lazy. It certainly seems that way. Does anyone remember Hurricane Katrina? All the blacks who were helpless, who expected the gov't to save them, and give them food, and build them a new home, and buy them shoes and tuck them in at night? Black people GROW UP! You all act like freaking children! Give me a freaking break. Come on, yOur mammy isn't going to hold your hand all your life! Get up and get it for yourselves, stop asking the gov't to promise you more money and benefits!
Change your own life. Stop listening making and listening to crappy rap music and go to school. Stop trying to be thugs. Do right by the world. The government ain't gonna change yo life!
not impressed with Diddy's comments here. Never was impressed with Diddy at all. Especially watching him make money off Biggie by remixing his albums over and over and OVER again. It's pathetic, really.
Anyway, since you think you are qualified to give advice to Obama, diddy, here is some advice for you: Shut the [expletive deleted] up.
obama is the real thing.
i think he really cares about the american people, and can unite us all and find common ground between red and blue.
he is an inspiration and HE IS GOING TO WIN because the american people are ultimately smart and know when someone genuine and intelligent comes along.
Please do not stereotype all people of the African Diaspora. The fact that Anglo-Saxons came to America when the cities were built..those cities were built on the free labor of African Americans. And lastly judge us by the best among us. Let me remind you that based on the history of slavery and involuntary servitude in this country, many African Americans have made many accomplishments. Just in case you do not know this Dr. Condelezza Rice the Secretary of State who is a "proud African American" is really running the country. She is the top adviser to President Bush and has advised his father during his presidential administration. Not only is Dr. Rice an international scholar who is fluent in Russian and French; she was also the youngest Vice Chancellor at Stanford University. Not bad for a young woman who grew up in the segregated city of Birmingham, Alabama.
So dear one, please do not lump all black people together, and do not stereotype..we are accomplished on the Continent of Africa, in the Caribbean, in Central and South America, in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and right here in North America.
To me Bush has done better than Bill clinton in helping black people.you blacks had no chance of having one of your kind as secretary of state, thanks to bush you have condi rice.tell me who appointed collin powell to the position of joint chief of staff;bush's father.all these appointment are a very good example to black kids that they should go to SCHOOL and the sky is the limit.dont just rap and put on skimp clothing.BILL CLINTON PUT YOU BLACKS IN LOWLY POSITIONS WHEN HE RULED AND YOU STILL CLAMOUR FOR HIS WIFE.All clinton did was to feed you emasse like puppies. No real example of what BLACK men and women could amount to.DIDDY you are hopeless
obama is a candidate who happens to be black - not a black candidate.
This comment is to Diddy. You want Barack to say something or do something for "blacks" well my brother what are you saying or doing. I am so sick of people like you always talking and never have anything to say. You have millions of dollars but I do not see you saying or doing anything for the community. Oh yea I forgot you are helping add to the statistics of unwed mothers. Babies all over the place and the new thing DL brothas. Until you do something and people see results of what it is that you are doing please keep your opinions to yourself. The only thing you are concerned with is adding money to your bank account with your over-priced concert tickets and clothes. Give us a break and KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT. Barack I am with you.
10 things
1. Hill ain't Bill.
2.Hill already been prez.
3.Barack needs $100million which he is raising from little people unlike Hill and Bill.
4.All 4 of them are smart(Bill, Hill, Michelle, Barack) , but back to the wall - I trust Michelle and Barack more than Hill and Bill.
5.We need no more household drama in the White House. Bill and Hill got a contract- Michelle and Barack got a family.
6.We need the kind of leadership in this nation that heals and unites, Barack can do that, Hill cannot. He can represent us around the world better as well.
7. The Republicans want Hill cause they with guiliani at the head will make this probably the ugliest race we've ever seen. Haven't we suffered enough?
8. If Hill really was on the up and up she'd offer to be Barack's 2nd.
9. When are we all going to take on leadership ourselves? That's what Barck inspires me to do. He doesn't have to have all the answers. No CEO does, that's why they have staff.
10.Remember the past, we've(everyday americans) have been left out too long.
This ain't personal, it's politics.
Piddy don't you have anything better to say about Obama' that he is a honest man trying his best to bring the country together and make a different in some people. He said he is not a perferct man, but he could do all in his power as a president to give student loan to student and family members to have less burden when they send their child to school and many more. Because you are wraped in your own rap world I don't think you listen to the campaign or read the news or listen to one. Why can't you go and help black people. You are full of riches you can sell all your jewlery and that will take care of most of the poor community. Why can't you be an advocate of poverty in the community and give some of your money away and stop leaving in world of your own. You yourself has so much to offer. Go give some of those money away and make yourself fell better instead of asking someone to do your own share in the community. Don't you think you own something to your community becasuse it is black people that buy your music and your expensive clothing. Do you ever ask where they get the money from knowing quite well they can't afford it. I want you to think before you say anything about anyone.

Ummmm, seriously?? Did Diddy just say that he needed his life changed? pa-leeeeeeease.
Don't ask what Barack will do for black people, what has diddy done for his people?
Sean John label, rap music, thug lifestyle, over indulgence, What has diddy done besides exploit the black race for his own benefit?
diddy, doodle whatever u call urself these days. Leave Barack Obama alone. You are hating on a black man who is honestly trying to change our lives. You want his claim to fame to be selling jeans and t shirts for you to take him seriously. Damn i thought black people would change their self hating mentality if they are rich. Well you proved me wrong Diddy. You want Barack Obama to go on the "it aint us its the white man why we shoot each other in Harlem" rhetoric. No he is smart. Why dont you run your own presidential campaign and see if your gangsta, jean selling, perfume peddling, shiny suit wearing, shades wearing at night, $300 million, baby daddy, j-lo used me, fake designer ass will achieve anything. You are not the voice of black America. If you were in Africa you would learn your lesson fast my fiend.
Although I totally agree that "we', black people should stand on our own; I can't agree with anything else you've said. Just to enlighten you. Anglo-Saxons came to America and befriended, learned how to survive, and when the time was right decieved, raped, plundered, pillaged the natives of this country! Then to make it right said it was God's will. Also read your history, those trails that you blazed, roads that you built, cities that you built was mostly done with a black man's aid, free labor, blood sweat & tears! You would not have this country if it wasn't for the contributions of blacks, hispanics, chinese, and other minorities in this country. As far as asking the gov't for aid and benefits; check the majority of people on welfare. I bet you would be very surprised. Everyone asks the gov't for something. That's what we have elected officials for; to represent us to the gov't so we can get what we want. I could go on and on, but what's the use. I mean it's so easy to express racist remarks on the internet, but most of those people are the most quiet, timid people in person. I hope you do a little research next time before making such idiotic racist remarks. I doubt it though!
I'm so glad you assked! For starters, most Blacks don't want to "be like more like white people."
Secondly, not only can we wipe our own ass, but some Black Nannys probably wiped your grandparents asses and breast fed them too!
Having said that, let's move on. Anglo-Saxons came here and took the land from American Indians and claimed it as your own. Then YOU HELPED YOURSELVES to 400 years of free labor from Black slave lavbor. Blacks made cotton "king" in the South. The Chinese built the railroads in the West. Black
Slaves built New York City. After World War II the govermnmet provided homes for whites through the FHA program after. While passing segregation laws to prevent Blacks from votion! Statistics show
more Whites on welfare than Blacks. Obviously, no Whites receive Social Security, since that comes from the government.
Blacks - African Americans - have played a significant role in American history:
Andres Beard - Automatic Car Coupling Device for Railroad cars - 1897
C. B. Brooks - Street Sweeper 1897
Dr. Charles Drew - Established Blood Banks all over the world 1940
Henry Blair - Mechanical Seed Planter 1834
Frederick Jones - Refrigeration for transport trucks 1938; Refrigeration for railroad cars 1945
Garett A. Morgan - Gas Mask that saved many lives during WWI 1914
Grandville Woods - Multiplex telegraph system to allow messages to be sent to moving trains 8197
Grandville Woods - Railroad Air Breaks that provided the first safe method of stopping trains 1903
Grandville Woods - Steam-boiler/radiator 1884
Norbett Rillieux - Sugar Refining System that revolutionized the making of sugar 1846
Also, Paul Cuffe (1759 - 1817) a free Black man, operated his own successful shipbuilding company in Connecticut. Cee McCarty ran an import and dry goods business in New Orleans. She owned thirty-two slaves and accumulated a furtune of $155,000 (about $2 million in today's dollars!)
According to tax records, before 1855 there were twenty-one black businessmen in New Youk City who made more than $100,000 pr year.
Maggie Lena Walker (1867 - 1934) a Black woman, started a Black owned and operated Saint Luke Penny Savings Bank in Richmond, Virginia in 1903, becoming the first American woman to found a bank.
Sara Breedlove McWilliams Walker (1867 - 1919) known as Madam C.J. Walker, invented a treatment for straigntening hair and began a million-dollar business promoting and selling her hair care products.
Today we have African American congressman and congressman, Black governors, legislators, mayors, city councilmen and women, doctors, lawers, etc, etc, etc,
What have you done with your live besides complain?????
Waiting for your reply,
Roy, Oakland, CA
I'm so glad you preferenced your remarks with "To me...."
Bill Clinton made important appointments outside of the traditional positions for Blacks - Housing and Urban Development (HUD); Health and Human Services (HHS) and Transportation.
Here is your history lesson for today.
At the cabinet level, Ron Brown Secretary of Commerce; Mike Espy, Secretary of Agriculture; Hazel O'Leary, Secretary Energy. Veterans Affairs Secretary Jesse Bround, and Drug Policy Coordinator Lee Brown were elevated to the Cabinet. Terence Duvernay currently serves as chief operating officer at HUD. Bob Nash, undersecretary for small community and rual development in the Dept of Agriculture. His purview includes the Rual Electrification Administration and Federal Crop insurance Corp. Ronald K. Noble is assistant secretary for enforcement in the Treasury Department and supervises such areas as financial crimes and regulatory trade and tariff enforcement. These are just some of the Clinton appointments. Oh yes, Rodney Slater is a 39 year old African American responsible for the safety of the nation's highways and bridges and enforcing truck and bus satety standards. And then there is Leslie M. Turner, 36 year ofl assistand secretary for teritorial and international affairs in the Department of Interior.
Just to name a few of over 300 African Americans Bill Clinton appointed to a veriety of influential positions. The Bushes gave us Clarence Thomas, Dr.Condoleeza Rice, Gen. Colin Powell.
I await your response,
Roy in Oakland
I am an african and a proud product of a relantionship between a blackman and a black women. What is this that I hear about blacks being changed and so on? Change starts within every black individual's heart. Every black man and every black women on this entire planet needs a change of heart including Obama.Every black person has got a backbone including Obama. I dont care what anyone says wether Diddy is 'whatever' he still is a blackman like myself. In africa we have what has been taugth to us from generations to generations and its called "Ubuntu" Ubuntu is a concept of brotherhood or sisterhood and collective unity for survival among the people in every society. That which is good for you must also be good for me and that which affects one directly, affects all indirectly…. I am human, because you are human. Ubuntu discourages us from having the 'Us and Them' mode or the I-Me-Mine syndrome. Such individualism has brought success, wealth and power to some individuals but the expense to the well-being, to the less privileged, and the world is so immense. In my mothers tounge Ubuntu is “munhu munhu nekuda kwevanhu” In zulu they say “umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu” And In English "a person is a person through other people. Black peolpe must stand up for each other correct each other and map the way forwad. So This knee jerk subconscious racial self-haterism must stop.
