Ex-NFL Great Dan Marino Looking at Manhattan House Condo

The Jets’ fresh-faced, weak-armed quarterback Chad Pennington was benched for yesterday’s game--for the second week in a row. So maybe it’s lucky that legendary hurler Dan Marino might come to town.

A source told The Observer that Mr. Marino has made repeat visits to Manhattan House, the block-wide condo conversion on East 66th Street. (He’d be a more masculine buyer than Grace Kelly, a tenant in the building decades ago.)

Mr. Marino retired from the Miami Dolphins in 1999, so even if he bought a New York condo, alas, it’s not quite likely he’d join up with the Jets. But if he wants to get back into shape, Manhattan House has a rooftop “luxury gym”--but also “results-oriented spa service in our therapy room or in the comfort of your own private residence.”

Two years ago, his 19,500-square-foot gated Florida mansion was put on the market for $15.9 million.

I hope Mr. Marino asks some tough questions about how many leaks have occurred in apartments in Manhattan House, how the owner plans to move tenants out of their apartments to repair pipes and remove asbestos due to the faulty pipe/leak problem throughout the building, and about how Manhattan House denies liability for damage caused to tenants' property due to those leaks.
