Hillary Supporter on Hillary, 'Muslim' Obama

Here are Hillary Clinton supporters Jim Bishop and his wife Shirley, in a photo taken after Clinton spoke last weekend at a Las Vegas high school.
I asked Jim Bishop at the time what he liked about Hillary more than Barack Obama or John Edwards, and he told me, "She has much more experience then either one of 'em."
Then, without prompting, Bishop said,
"And more than that, Obama is a Muslim. He went to school in Muslim schools. They taught him to hate Americans from the second grade on. I don't know how in the world he became a Senator. He was raised by a Muslim father and Muslim mother in Hawaii."
When I told him that Obama was in fact a rather devout Christian, Bishop said, "Oh, no. No way."

From the look of these two, they don't know what's going on; how can they make a judgement about Obama. Obama has rights to become a Senate as anyone else does; he is an American born citizen. When people get this old they go by hear say.
George I and George II both have experience. So does Hillary. Is experience what this country needs?
Or does it need change and a big change at that?
I will vote for Barack Obama. He is a Christian, goes to church in America, prefers to live by the U.S. Constitution and will govern by the Constitution.
The U.S. Constitution is about the American people and how the government is supposed to function for the benefit of the people.
Barack Obama is for the American people.
His close knowledge of Muslim people, which no one else running for President has, can only help the U.S. when he is President. He will bring our troops home from Iraq where they never belonged in the first place. BUSH LIED US INTO THAT WAR!
He will leave just enough people there to ASSIST Iraq, but not combat troops to continue the misbegotten war.
He is a REAL uniter, not like Bush, who lied when he said he was a uniter (remember his saying that? What a whopper!)
I've said enough; you can go to Barack's website to find out what he will do as President.
If it matters, I am a white, 59-year-old widow. I am for Obama because I judge him to be honest. He is taking no money from special interests. Only from Americans. American citizens are the only people he will "owe" when he is in office. OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT!
Lis, Obama takes plenty of money from special interests. He just doesn't take it from lobbyists, so he saves those interests the lobbying fees. I guess that really makes him beyond ethical reproach.
Will the Bishops be more grist for the 'freak show' frenzy about Hillary? Will the Obama campaign use this to trash Hillary as well? Guess this is all the entertainment we have since everything else is on strike.

I saw a picture a while back that showed Hillary, Obama and another candidate standing on a platform performing the pledge of allegience to the flag. Hillary and the other candidate had their right hands over their heart but Obama had his hands folded in front of his body. Doesn't look good to me!!!
It is an individual right whether he wants to pledge to the US flag or stand when the National Athem is sung. I was born and raised in the US and I do not stand when the National Anthem is sung and I do not pledge or place my hand over my heart. So, what is the big deal about Obama not placing his hand over his heart. There is no written law stating that one must do so.

I see ignorance spreads faster than knowledge. I will clarify some things for you. 1) It wasn't the pledge of allegiance, people who are oppossed to Obama for whatever reason, seem to be focused on this lie 2) It was the singing of the national anthem, you are not required to put your hands over your heart during the singing of the anthem. You can do one of two things, you can silently listen, or join in the singing, hands over the heart is optional. With that said. Barack Obama in 2008.
Independents For Obama
Gee, Hillary supporters seem to be engaging in whole-hearted MUDSLINGING, right out of the republican play book, judging from the comments and the people in the article. Fact-free, substance-free, whold-hearted MUDSLINGING.
I like Hillary but will support and vote for Obama. Things have
gone so out of hand with the neocon takeover and the attempt to destroy the middle class (a cabal which was hatched as far back as the Reagen administration). Obama is very impressive and not
deeply entrenched in the current government and the entrechment
issue is the one that prevents me from supporting Hillary.
I want drastic change. I want true democracy and the truth. Where would this country stand now if there had not been a war but we instead hat massively invested in the infrastructure of
this country and taken care of the health care problem etc.
Voting for a possible third party candidate is out of question.
Any vote given to a part that does not have a chance to win an
election, is a vote for the party that I like the very least
There are a lot of good Americans who are moslems. I wonder how they feel when well meaning Americans speak like the Bishops are speaking. America is a country which was created in large part by people fleeing from religious oppression. I believe every American including moslems has a right to representation in the senate our the house of representatives. It is the duty of the Hilary campaign to do well to educate their supporters.
Well sometimes if better education is going to cost you votes you could decide to ignore that.
Lets all chill out a little and think things through for once. Lets back our candidate, but keep in mind that there will only be one person pretty soon to get the republicans out of the white house. Don't get so far out that you can't support the eventual nominee. I'm supporting Hillary, but if Obama or Edwards or whoever is the nominee, I will support them 100%. So should you, so don't get out on a limb and punish the while nation. Besides, it's my birthday today!
I strongly urge Jim and Shirley Bishop (and everyone seeking the facts) to check out the non-partisan Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life website. They have profiles of all the presidential candidates which include a general biography, a religious biography, and information on where they stand on major issues.
It's good info.
Please give it a read: www.pewforum.org/religion08
Liz Ursitti:
(1) Obama certainly does take money from special interests.
(2) Obama is not the only candidate with knowledge of the Muslim world. You just made that up.
(3) I appreciate the defense given on behalf of Obama, because letting it be known how stupid some people are, such as the two old farts in the photo, is necessary as is combatting ignorance. Yet, you bring up the fact that he's Christian and attends church in your defense. That's unncessary. What the hell does it matter if he's Muslim, Christian, Jew, Buddhist? It doesn't.
The maxim is: if you want to be taken seriously, you have to take yourself seriously.
Meaning you have to speak words that can be supported by facts. In a democracy this becomes even more important sense speech is free.
So when someone makes a statement what we should do is not react to the statement but to the person. Ask him or her to produce there evidence.
It seems as if people wake up from a deep sleep and it that there awakening constitutes the world. Obama has being alive for 46 years he has written the most candid self-biography.
11 years ago before he considered running for political office “dreams from my father”.
People seem to think that Obama would gain something from being the president. He is a US-senator, a Harvard Lawyer graduated # 1 in his class, and he does not need to run for political Office for the sake of prestige or for the sake of money. He is a double best selling author.
WE need him, more then he needs us. So let’s stop the bullshit, I don’t think he would lose anything if he was not the nominee.
Good old NYers, I'm a native, I've had to clean up my language a lot to quit shocking west coast folks.
I agree that, materially, Obama doesn't need us, he's become quite popular and successful because of his character and qualifications. His American grandfather is a WW II Veteran, a GI-bill college-grad, his American grandmother a Rosie-the-Riveter. Obama's mother was the first to go after a graduate degree, in international development to help poor countries. Barack made his first million on his two books, not political gamesmanship. He and his wife Michelle were paying more in student loans than their mortgage until he got his book deals. He's fully qualified to be a judge, even, I've heard, short-listed for Supreme Court Justice as he's a former Harvard Law Review President (first African American one, and he put Republicans on the Review board!) and Constitutional Law expert.
Spiritually, though, it looks and feels, when I've seen him (twice, once very close-up, shook hands, gave/got thanks and a hug), that Barack seems to feel a calling to serve, to lead firmly but rationally, to change himself and us into the best we want to be. I see that his best hopes for us are contagious, that people seem to wake up out of a sense of "Oh, well, what can I do, except worry about me and mine?" into a sense of "Wait a minute, nobody can change this but me! I can make a huge difference, one step at a time, with all these other people who want change too!"
Obama's energizing as well as brilliant, though very Lincoln-like (just as tall and skinny) in how serious he gets talking about life and death topics like wars and health care and poverty. The good thing is he's got a great wife who keeps his feet on the ground and keeps him smiling, unlike poor Abe. Michelle Obama is a serious family-centered as well as working professional woman; her whole focus is always on balance. They're a pair that inspires confidence, not worries, about their behavior in the West Wing and our White House. Michelle and Barack are very ethical people, very conscious of upholding moral principles, working hard and setting an example for their two daughters. Their values are "I am my brother's and sister's keeper", and the faith they ascribe it to in their lives is Christian, but it's the principle, not the organized faith, that makes them appeal to me.
I'm voting and volunteering for Obama; he seems like the most grounded, most thoughtful, most well-balanced and, in the most meaningful ways, most experienced. The experience that counts is the one that gets people to agree to act, to focus on what they agree on instead of what they'll never agree on. That's the most consistent quality I've read from as far back as I can find people speaking about him: he brings people to the table, listens to everyone, finds points of agreement and gets people to agree to take action. I don't see that ability in any of the other candidates, Democratic or Republican. On the contrary, they seem bent on continuing the old fights where none of us win but they always do.
I want to see our democracy shine again. I want a President who loves the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, enough to become an expert and teach their principles and history! I want the proven-successful listener and negotiator to take the reigns.
I was at the event, and I too didn't put my hand over my heart for the pledge of allegiance; IT WASN'T the pledge of allegiance, weren't even any flags presented. Was the Star Spangled Banner. You sing to the Star Spangled Banner. Since when did Americans become so stupid that we get our news from emails and tabloids? Gezus people use your heads. That's what they're there for, in case you've forgotten. Your teachers would be so disappointed in all their efforts going to waste.
I want to preface my statement saying that I am an
African American. I feel that the older couple in the picture typify the ignorace of the average american. Most people dont know the difference between primary and general election. It was quoted in "The New Yorker" that Mr.Obama had an appreciatable advantage amoung intellectual voters and was at a disadvantage with "beer drinker" or average voters. Beer drinkers typically dont invest in politics citing corruption as a factor or nonrevalance, which in turn makes them more susceptible to band wagon marketing or name brand marketing in choosing political canidates. This phenomia is way Hillary is the front runner and way she is even considered viable because on her own record she has no noteable accomplishments and no real claim to the political claim she enjoys. If you were to poll the average African American they would say "They are not voting for Hillary as much as they are voting for Bill to be back in a position of direct influence in national politics. If people paid more attention to politics they would understand Bill Clintons' policies read like a litany of failures and his only success, the economy was due to the efforts of Robert Rubin.
Those two bozos in the picture probably also believe Saddam was behind 9/11. Ignorance will be America's downfall.
The best medicine for Clintons is to bring the new vedio Bill Clinton had a pillow talks with the Canadian woman while they were in Africa tour spent a night in one of the Hotel. The vedio was taken hiden and sold to an American millioner. This happed after his presidency was over. Just my opinionnnnn!!!
Ignorance has no age, and from the looks of them they will believe anything their country tells them.
i think Barack obama should be elected he showing that the african americans can do something with their life and i think if he wins i think it would change alot of people ways to see that a black person did something with their life
Has Americans gone NUTS, have we forgot what Muslims will do to us? They vowed to take us down from within. Clinton is SOOO experinced and her forum is what we need in this country. She has showed us she stays Red White and Blue on her beliefs. Obama has not. PLEASE lets get Hillary the nomination. If she does not I will vote straigh Republican. Obama scares me!
There's an old saying: "Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want and deserve to get it good and hard."
These two imbeciles are walking examples.
It isn't about religion or personal preferences. It is about Leadership and Drastic change. Obama is the man. He will be very fair in his judgement because he represents the melting pot America is. His biological father (who had very little influence in his life) was African. His White mother raised him wiith his Indonesian step father.
I lost a lot of respect for Hillary when she played the religious "muslim" card. There are good muslims as well as bad ones. That applies to all religions!
We are soppose to change the negative course of this country not encourage it for politcal gain...
That statement alone shows she isnt fit to run any country!
If she is the Democratic Front runner then I am voting republican!
Ha Ha... these are the kind of older Americans that need to stop voting. I'm proud of Obama's campaign focusing on the younger adult... you know, our FUTURE.
Oh, and speaking of Muslim... does this make Hillary muslim too?
http://s128.photobucket.com/albums/p190/zendiscordia/?action=view¤...
Or are we just labeling Obama as a muslim just for good ol' racist sake?
Fear + immersion in stereotypes + mindless dependence on mainstream media = DOWNWARD SPIRAL OF AMERICAN SOCIETY
This is sad but true and never as evident as it is in the current political climate surrounding the Democratic candidates.
OBAMA IS THE MAN WE NEED! GO OBAMA '08!

I know this is an old post but I still have to strongly disagree with this message. Barack Obama is not the first african american to do something with his life. PLENTY of AA's serve in the gov't, military, business, medicine, spiritual, legal and tons more industries.
His running is just adding to a rich African-American history in America. We are a people who try to within the system (for the most part) to contribute to our nation's progress.
Obama - FAKE FAKE FAKE
Fense Sitting Delegates & Super Delegates - Modern day pimps.
God bless us all.
I've been telling people all along Barrack Hussein Obama was raised a Muslim. I work with 2 Muslims and they say his name is Muslim and you don't get a Muslim name without being a Muslim. He may be a Christian now, but he was born and raised Muslim, and how people are so ignorant to this fact is beyond me. I know plenty of Muslims and have no ill feelings against them, but I don't think one should be President only 6 1/2 years after America was attached by Muslim Extremist, who are still trying to attack us. Also,
why are all these people from his past turning out to be bigots and criminals and people still don't get it?
It really saddens me to see how ignorant some of my fellow Americans are. This is why we (USA) are losing value in the world.
