Ignizio's Gun
Here's an interesting (if not particularly significant) factoid buried deep in a profile in the Staten Island Advance of freshman City Councilman Vinny Ignizio: he's applying for a gun license so he can buy a rifle.
I'm guessing this is a pretty rare distinction among New York City elected officials. Are there any other gun owners?

Hirma Monserrate has a gun from his NYPD days. Also Councilmembers Gennarro and Nelson each have gun permits, although neither carries.
He should be able to have carry permit. Simply being in the public eye, you have alot of Unhappy, cooks, psychos and weirdos who like to threaten politicians. Im not a politician but a former police investigator and have seen plenty of incidents where public officials get threatened but dont have the luxury of "Secret Service Agents" like the U.S. Pres. is entitled to. Give this Mr. Ignizio a Permit. Im sure his character (and Im sure he'll agree to proper training in the use of Deadly Force when and not to use it)
