New York Times Ed Board Gets All Bloggy
It's great that The New York Times editorial board is now down with the internet. Finding ways for all parts of the paper to get closer to their readers obviously makes sense. But we can't help feeling that there's something about presenting every post as coming from "The Editorial Board" that's a poor fit for the whole blogging concept. Part of getting closer to readers involves a recognition that the members of the editorial board are individual people with their own differeing interests, points of view, sensibilities, etc. Why not let readers get a sense of that, by having the authors sign their posts individually?
The Times does promise: "Over time, we will introduce you to some of the board members, who will discuss their areas of expertise."
Looking forward to it.
