Private Sector Republicans for Hillary
Hillary Clinton had a small fund-raiser at the 57th Street and 8th Avenue home of Mike DelGuidice last night that featured a number of big Democratic names: Bill Clinton, Terry McAulliffe, former New Jersey Governor Jim Florio and Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, among others.
There were also at least two Republicans.
One was Clarence D. “Rapp” Rappleyea, the former Assembly Minority Leader who was right-leaning enough to be dubbed one of the “state’s highest-profile conservatives” in a 1997 National Review article (about George Pataki's liberalism). He's now, according to a corporate bio, "one of the principal members of Public Affairs Venture LLC, a joint venture between Patricia Lynch Associates, Inc.; Harris Beach PLLC; and Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer, & Feld LLP."
