Ron Paul Needs New Yorkers

Congressman Ron Paul, the Republican presidential candidate with lots of internet and financial support but not much sway in the polls, is looking for delegates from two congressional districts in the city.
Here's an email that went out on Christmas Eve:
December 24, 2007
Thanks for the great response to our request for new applications for delegate to the National Convention (Sep. 1-4 in Minneapolis).
Our work is now narrowed down to two congressional districts in Brooklyn and Queens where there are few Republicans.
The 9th (Brooklyn-Queens) is represented by Anthony D. Weiner. Map
The 10th (Brooklyn) is represented by Edolphus Towns. Map.
You must live in the district and be a registered Republican. If you are eligible or know someone who is, please call me immediately .
Warmest wishes,
Jim Ostrowski

Don't let freedom scare you. Ron Paul's message should not be so foreign to you folks in New York. If Ron Paul is a out of touch with mainstream thought, so too were our founding fathers. Now that is scary.
Life expectancy went up 20.9 years from 1900 to 1950. This was a result of the Laissez Faire boom of the late 19th, early 20th century. Life expectancy went up only 8 years from 1950 to 2000. Big government doesn't work. Social Security is a failure. Government funded health care is a failure.
Median wages have barely grown since 1971. For the 25-34 demographic, median wages are lower today than they were in 1971!
It's time to return to peace, freedom and prosperity. No more centralized banking. No more big government military industry complex. No more costly foreign military engagements (Americans are taxed to maintain 700 military bases in over 130 countries). It's time to cut the crap and live life. Go America! Go Ron Paul!

Wake up, America! Our personal liberties are being stripped from us right in front of our eyes! We're overtaxed and underpaid, and we can't seem to figure out how to dig ourselves out of the hole! WAKE UP!! We don't have to live this way! RP '08
My fellow Americans, I have no choice but to be as plain as possible and say that our country NEEDS Ron Paul. Do we really need an income tax? Absolutely not. It's not as though we have a problem with any sort of income gap between the rich and poor in this country. To the contrary, anyone who has even a remote familiarity with the facts understands and appreciates that we've actually spent the last 30 years locked in a downward spiral wherein the rich have gotten poorer and the poor, richer. Indeed, today's poor are now so rich that they make the rich look poor by comparison!
And what is this nonsense about national health care? We must free ourselves from these liberal lies if we are to right this great country. For years, liberal news services have erroneosuly reported that as many as 45 million Americans lack basic health insurance. Hogwash. The actual number is not 45 million but 45. And those 45 Americans without insurance lack coverage not because they're unable to pay but because they've been cursed by Jesus. Everyone knows that.
And what about crime in America? Anyone familiar with big cities like New York knows that crime has risen dramatically over the last 15 years and is now at an all-time high. The reason is obvious: gays in Hollywood and background checks at gun shows. If each school-age child had unfettered access to a state-of-the-art assault rifle, we could end these bizarre school shootings once and for all!
Doubtless, the White House has been home to presidents old and young; conservative and liberal; able and unable. But never before have we had the pleasure of a commander-in-chief who is truly batshit crazy. God Bless You, Ron Paul.
RP 2008! Go Ron!

The gap between the rich and the poor has been growing precisely because of big government spending. Who do you think gets all of that government spending? The politically connected:
-------------
Washington is all about the money, he writes. In 2005, the Census Bureau listed seven suburban counties around the capital as among the 20 richest in the country. And it’s not just Republicans cashing in on their service. “Upon leaving office,” he notes, “more than half of the senior officials in the Clinton administration became corporate lobbyists.”
---------------
Who do you think is getting all the hundreds of billions of dollars that the centrally controlled federal reserve is pumping out? The big banks. They made hundreds of billions of dollars in the last 6 years with their high risk speculating, and then, when the inevitable downturn comes, they get corporate welfare from the federal reserve (which is actually privately owned).
The system is totally and entirely fukked, and Ron Paul is the only one talking about it.
Do any of the Democrats even know what the Federal Reserve is?
Why is the Federal Reserve privately owned? Who is Bernanke? Why does he get to control a $200 billion + a year industry? Since when does the United States believing in giving on man control over a facet of the economy through government appointment? I though business men who create their own business were supposed to control the economy, not government managers. Since when did the United States become the USSR?
HEALTH CARE.

Health care costs have increased 10X per capita since 1960! In virtually every other industry in the economy, costs have gone DOWN since 1960. FOr example computers are thousands of times cheaper and MILLIONS of times more advanced today than they were in 1960. Why is health care getting so expensive? The reason health care (and education) are going up is that they are increasingly subsidized and regulated by the government.
Government economic management DOESN'T work!
