Ron Paul, Political Machine

How poorly is fundraising going for the Republican presidential contenders? Libertarian fringe candidate Ron Paul is in third place among the candidates in terms of cash-on-hand, with $2.4 million. George Stephanopoulos, who might want to have a frank conversation with his booker, will have an "exclusive interview" with Paul on Sunday's edition of "This Week."

The only question I have is, how much did Rudy pay him to stay in the race?

Ron Paul's ability to raise money is a function of his positions, especially regarding the war in Iraq. His great popularity on the internet results from being ignored in the mainstream media. Giuliani's grandstanding vis a vis Ron Paul was not appreciated by all republicans. Rudy actually did Dr Paul a favor by bringing him national attention. His popularity has been growing astronomically ever since, as shown by the shocking amount he is beginning to raise.

I believe I am representative of many who don't typically vote, but who are excited by this anit-politician. Finally we have someone who doesn't adjust his positions according to polls, who doesn't practice soundbites before the mirror, who always has something informative and wise to tell us, mostly someone who reflects the frustration citizens feel towards a self-serving political elite. Vote for the septegenarian Dr. NO, RON PAUL!

Andrew, "Libertarian fringe candidate"? Dude, he's the most Conservative Republican there is! "How much did Rudy pay him to stay in the race?" What kind of a comment is that? Rudy is going to tank before the year is out! He has so many skeletons coming out of his closet... they should have used Rudy's past for the SFX in the last Pirates of the Caribbean movie! Andrew... now, c'mon... are you buttering Rudy's bread?

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win. Mohandas Gandhi

Mr. Rice is still in the second stage of denial. In three months when Representative Paul is still in the race and the field narrows to five remaining, he will start the name calling and fighting Ron Paul.

Time to put more money into the Ron Paul coffers. I just contributed another $100.00 and will put another $400.00 soon.

Keep up the Revolution!

Question: Do real republicans advocate perpetual war?..Do real republicans advocate dehumanization, terroristic coercion and torture as a means of obtaining information even against other American citizens?.....Do real republicans believe in giving up any personal liberty or personal freedoms granted expressly to them by the Constitution?....Do real republicans advocate a massive federal government?......Do you love Liberty?............FREEDOM IS POPULAR.....VOTE RON PAUL 2008

How silly to even consider the other Republican candidates. Vegas odds makers say the only Republican nominee with a chance of winning the general election is Ron Paul. Such a horse pill for the party bosses to have to choke down. The war has made the whole Republican party lame duck. Except for Ron Paul. Please get a clue.

That's a stupid question because Ron Paul is in it to win. The will to live free or die is stonger than the will to attain money and power. Therefore it doesn't matter how much Gulliani or the others have to spend the won't be able to buy everybody'd votes.

This article is really funny! Sort of like sour grapes.

I just got back from the NH straw poll, a very important state.

Ron took the poll with 65% and Rudy barely made 8%.

Ron is no fringe candidate -- he's the only candidate who makes sense of them ALL, of either side.

To me, the real fringe are people like Hillary and Obama. I mean, who the hell IS Obama? I've followed Dr. Paul for years. He's the only one with any brains.

Andrew Rice does not know what he is talking about. His twisted remark about Giuliani paying Dr. Ron Paul to stay in the race is the result of neo-con money going into Rice's pocket.
The neo-cons are really afraid of Ron Paul, because they know that once Ron Paul becomes president their scheme is over. Ron Paul is the candidate who offers hope of a better tomorrow. Ron Paul is the candidate of the people and the Controlled Media which fabricates "favorites" pretends Ron paul does not exist. Keep your Controlled Media, because the masses are waking up and turning to the Internet for Real News.

Dude, that is SO last month! Other pundits have long since moved beyond flip dismissal and marginalization, right into the attack phase. Things move fast now. Embrace the web 2.0. Throw that 56K modem in the trash and get with it. Try misrepresenting Dr. Paul's voting record. Maybe you can make some mileage out of his age. Calling him names might work. Try "isolationist." No, that one has already been debunked. I know you can think of something. Oh wait. I've got it: "Republican." Call him a Republican, and maybe people will think he's one of those spendthrift war mongers.

McCain is tanking. Who's going to vote for cross-dressing closet Nazi Ghouliani? Romney believes in a religion that started as a scam by a convicted con artist. Thompson has nothing to say that wouldn't be quoting George W. So the choices are A: Hillary, who will tell anyone anything to get elected, or B: Ron Paul, an honest man of priciple that is telling the hard-to-face truth and believes that the US government is not above the law. Pretty simple choice. I just sent Ron Paul 200 dollars.

I Digg Ron Paul. Maybe I like fringe, I'm from the fringe. I think for myself.

The men who support the principles of the US Constitution and Bill of Rights are my heroes. And we need to try to save our ship, the good old USA from the PNAC ,Neocons, CFR, and the others who would destroy her. It ain't just patriotism, it's a great fellowship of like minded philosophers of freedom, and respecting some laws and an orderly society.

The last article I read about a law GWB signed was just another step closer to Presidential dictatorship, martial law and repealing posse comitatas. Do they really trust George with THAT much power? Are they as retarded as he is?

When are we going to stop funding Halliburton? It cannot account for the spending accurately of billions of dollars. Why did we give an unending contract to build detention centers here to KBR? Aren't they also not complying with honest accounting? If my small business did business with the government like theirs and couldn't count right, we'd be closed for business. They get more contracts for stealing than the mafia.

I Digg Ron Paul.

HA! The smearing is ridiculous and at this point hilarious. There are youtube clips of people calling up the Sean Hannity radio show telling him that the 9/11 commission report and the CIA confirms what Ron Paul was saying and proves that Giuliani is a puppet weasle, but Hannity still has the audacity to say that Ron Paul is "unamerican"! OR that it's unamerican to say such a thing.....holy crap, Hannity is either one of the biggest fools ever, or someone is paying him/blackmailing him to smear the truth and spin propaganda like a hurricane! RON PAUL 2008!

Andrew (not verified) says:

I just don't believe Dr. Paul's notion that if we get out of Iraq, the bad guys will leave us alone. I actually find it offensive when he basically says WE are the reason that 9/11 happened. I'm not going to argue the Isolationist vs Non-Interventionist deal with you; I just think it is ridiculously naive to think if we come home the whole deal will be over. We haven't gotten hit on our soil in over 6 years, we've got these guys on their heals in the corner. Why let up when we're winning?

I would never call Ron Paul or any other politicians I disagree with unamerican. I believe he thinks his ideas will work out best for America. I wish it were that simple. I wish we didn't have to spend all this money on national defense, my tax bill could be alot lower. The truth is, there are bad people out there that want to kill all of us. I'd much rather have our well-trained, all-volunteer armed forces taking care of these creeps over there.

One thing I'll give you Ron Paul supporters, you guys are the loudest 5% I've ever heard. It's a little annoying, but still impressive. I wish everyone who supported the more realistic candidates in the GOP were as dedicated as you guys. Will you all support the GOP candidate when it's not Dr. Paul? I really hope he doesn't try to pull a Ross Perot.

Actually, you should be asking how much is Andrew raking in for putting down Mr. Paul. No real reporter claiming to be impartial would do such a thing unless he was a boy in a pocket.
