A Yankee Fan Pours It On

It's usually a good move in a two-baseball team town to avoid deliberately antagonizing fans of one or the other.

Will Smith, a spokesman for the Staten Island District Attorney Dan Donovan, isn't worried about such niceties. Here he outside City Hall discussing today's Quinnipiac poll showing that most New Yorkers are Yankee fans.

billy is a major hump. he goes along to get along, and jumps on the bandwagon when it suits his purpose.

i hope dan is smart enough to fire this loser when he realizes his comments offended mets fans who are also voters and shouldn't have to be insulted by a two-bit traitor like billy.

You haters need to give it up, Smith is one of the sharpest guys in Island politics. He may have been a party-switcher but he never ratted on his Democrat friends - which in Staten Island politics in a miracle.

I like this guy...he should run for president.

Mr. Mintz (not verified) says:

LET ME SPEAK ON THIS. Dont you people have anything better to do than to bash someone for sticking up for his/her favorite team? Respect that, dont knock that. At least this dude is honest about his and loyal to a team. In politics noone ever seems loyal to anything, so his loyalty is to be commended.

An even better thought... for the interviewer, noone cares what the dixie chicks thinks of President Bush, and I dont care what sean "Communist" penn thinks of the war in Afghanistan and Iraq (By the way, penn should stay in Venezuela). A better question would have been to have Mr. Smith comment on DA Donovan's accomplishments since entering office, because from what I have seen and heard things are alot better on Staten Island since the days of his predecessor.

By the way, Will, you were great in the Fresh Prince of Bel Aire. You should be on Dancing with the Stars :)
