Spitzer Boosts Congestion Pricing

Eliot Spitzer said he's "in favor of embracing" congestion pricing at a press conference in midtown with Michael Bloomberg and Mary Peters, the federal secretary of transportation. Bloomberg said people should support the plan in concept and worry about details later. "People want specificity, but until we try it, we won't know," he said. Spitzer also engaged in a bit of expectations management on congestion pricing, saying that the end of the legislative session on June 21 is not a hard deadline for getting it approved.
