Happy Father’s Day to all those daddies (sugar and not) out there (except self-adoring hipster dads who compete with their tots for who gets to have the craziest hair and sloppiest outfit). Somehow tying itself to this holiday is the first-ever EarthBox (whaaaaaaaaat) Day. The Growing Connection, a global group of people “growing vegetables and sharing information to improve nutrition” (read: broccoli) will gather in Union Square to plant veggies in EarthBoxes. We sense disaster all around (the dogs! the homeless! the yoga girls!).
[EarthBox Day, Union Square Park, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., www.thegrowingconnection.com.]
