I'm at the Personal Democracy Forum conference today at Pace University, the annual celebration of all things internet and open source organized by Andrew Raisej and Micah Sifry. (It's mobbed this year.)

Google Chairman and CEO Eric Schmidt delivered one of the day's first memorable lines moments ago in answering a question from Times columnist Tom Friedman about the impact of technology on politics:

"George Bush could never get elected President if he went to Yale now," he said.

The reason, he explained, is that everyone these days would have a cell phone camera whenever Bush got drunk and sloppy at a party.

Chilling.
