Get out yer crystals! The one and only Shirley MacLaine—sister of Warren Beatty, patron saint of grandma kooks everywhere—has a new book out called, no joke, Sage-ing While Age-ing. We were too busy this week with bustling fall activities to call the old bird, so let’s go back to our stack of press releases! “As she looks across the remarkable professional and personal milestones she has experienced so far, MacLaine is able to recognize the profound power of synchronicity at work,” it intones. “Sage-ing While Age-ing explores a wealth of issues from health and nutrition, to spirituality, to life on other planets, to MacLaine’s views about the greatest mystery of all: what happens to us after death.” Hmmm … There’s a party, naturally, at the not-very-New Age New York Palace Hotel (Gossip Girl’s favorite shooting locale!). Be an old woman who wears purple. Meanwhile, over at the Garden, those silly Knicks attempt to beat the Denver Nuggets. Honestly, if it weren’t for Knicks hottie David Lee and those bodacious Dancers, we’d be wearing Nets jerseys by now.
