Wall Street Journal Media Reporter Writing Book About Murdoch Takeover
Sarah Ellison, the Wall Street Journal media reporter who has been covering Rupert Murdoch's takeover of Dow Jones, will write a book about the transformation of the news media, to be published by Houghton Mifflin in 2009. According to a posting on Publishers Marketplace announcing the deal, the story of Mr. Murdoch's acquisition of The Journal will be the centerpiece of Ms. Ellison's book.
It's unclear whether the book will contain new reporting from Ms. Ellison, and whether she will remain on the media beat at The Journal while she's working on it.
Calls to Ms. Ellison, her agent David Halpern of the Robbins Office, and George Hodgman, her editor at Houghton Mifflin, were not immediately returned.
UPDATE: Reached by phone today, Ms. Ellison declined to comment on the book or her plans at the paper.
