Amy Winehouse will not and was never slated to perform at the Met’s Annual Costume Institute Gala on May 5th.

According to a spokesperson for the event, Ms. Winehouse was never scheduled to sing despite contradicting reports from the Daily Mail indicating that she was set to make an appearance, but then got “dropped” from the event.

An unnamed source told the British tabloid that “she has been told that she is no longer part of the program.”

“Amy Winehouse was not axed because she was never actually signed on to perform,” said spokesperson, Nancy Chilton. “She was among a number of people that we were considering, but no, she is no longer being considered.”

But why?

“I don’t know that we want to comment on that at this time.”
