Karla Schuster spotted a new line in Michael Bloomberg's denial about running for president. From a press conference at the Google offices in Manhattan today:
"I’ve said repeatedly I’m not a candidate...and I'll stay that way," the mayor said.
The comment comes the same day his self-described soul mate, Arnold Schwarzenegger, endorsed John McCain for president.I called Doug Bailey, one of the people working to draft Bloomberg into the race, to see what he thinks about all this. “I have no comment on that because I’m hearing that from you. I’m not hearing that from others,” he told me.
When I asked if he was still actively trying to draft Bloomberg, Bailey said, “Certainly, this is the Draft Bloomberg campaign. We think he ought to run.”
