Bloomberg Deposition and the Relevance of an '08 Bid [updated]

A lawyer involved with the South Carolina gun dealer's case against Michael Bloomberg just emailed me a copy of the mayor's deposition, taken last week.

[UPDATE: Here's the full transcript of Bloomberg's deposition.]

Here's an exchange that jumped out at me:

Q Mayor, how many magazine covers have you been on in the last six months that you know of?

A Three or four.

Q Newsweek?

A Newsweek.

Q What are the others, do you know?

A Time, Fortune, that may have been it. There may be one other that I don't recall.

Q Okay. And again, you are listed as the 39th most influential person in the world in 2007, correct?

MR. TABER: Objection.

A I'm flattered, but don't know if it's true or not, but I was listed, yes.

Q Are you going to run for President?

MR. TABER: Objection. You're asking him that question when, as of today?

Q Mayor, do you understand the question?

MR. TABER: Well, if the question is a question, Mr. Pierce, as of today, I don't believe that it's relevant.
