Clinton Bundler Seeks Money to Relieve Hillary's Debt

A reader sends over this letter from former Clinton bundler Yashar Hedayat calling for contributions to erase Hillary Clinton's campaign debt--and it includes this whiff of a threat to Obama supporters: " I don’t think any of us (including my Obama friends on this list) want her to be saddled with debt while she continues to do so much good for our country."

Here's the letter:

Friends,

In the past eighteen months, Hillary Clinton ran a historic campaign for the Presidency. And thanks to so many of you on this list, there are eighteen million cracks in that highest and hardest of glass ceilings.

Now with the primary campaign over, Hillary needs our help to retire her campaign debt. A debt that was accumulated when she was spreading her message of equality and fairness, and at the end of the day, an investment she made in all of us.

Whatever happens in the next few years, Hillary has a long career ahead of her as a leader in the Democratic Party and our country. And I don’t think any of us (including my Obama friends on this list) want her to be saddled with debt while she continues to do so much good for our country.

So I hope, if you haven’t maxed out in the primary to her committee, you will make a generous contribution today. You may give up to $2,300, but I would be grateful for any amount, 25, 50, 100 dollars.

BUT, PLEASE MAKE A CONTRIBUTION TODAY through the link below and pass this e-mail on to your friends.

If you’ve already given $2,300 towards the primary, you are officially maxed-out, please don’t make another contribution. But please DO forward this e-mail on.

In Hillary’s incredible speech the night of the New Hampshire primary she said so many things we will never forget, but we will all remember when she said that she had found her own voice. And in the six months after the New Hampshire primary she used her voice to lift up millions of Americans who were ignored by the government. But we must never forget that in eighteen months and eighteen million votes, Hillary taught us to believe in ourselves again and reminded us that anything is possible.

Please make a contribution today.

Thanks Very Much

Yashar Hedayat

Because it's not like she can afford that debt she owes herself. She'll never spend even 1/10th of what she has, and she wants us to pay off her debt? Wow... That's balls....

Hillary owes about $28 million from her primary run. She and Bill had personally loaned about $11 million to her campaign. This leaves $17 million now owed to hundreds if not thousands of people or organizations. It was her choice to let this happen. When she ran out of money, she decided to keep the campaign going anyway.

Now she wants help from Obama to pay down this debt. That's wrong. Obama's campaign has been funded by over 1.4 million people who have given an average of about $100 bucks. This is how he intends to continue to fund his campaign. It's a wonderful thing; real grass roots stuff. Hillary is pushing Obama to ask these small money donors to give money to her, which will obviously put a dent in money going towards Obama's presidential run.

The Republican National Committee currently has $55 million to fund McCain. This number will probably triple as the election gets closer. The Democratic National Committee has less than $5 million to help Obama. This number will grow some. Generally speaking, republicans have more money than democrats. Obama will need ALL the money he can get his hands on.

Ok. So what the heck is Hillary doing??? Bill and Hillary combined are worth over $100 million dollars. How much money does a couple need??? Instead of putting Obama in this uncomfortable spot, WHY doesn't she just pay off the debt herself?????

To sum up: Hillary stayed in the primary race longer than she had the money to justify. This forced Obama to spend more precious dollars to beat Hillary. And now she wants his help, when she could simply write a check!!!!!!!
