Clinton Campaign Responds to 'Fear-Mongering' Charge
The Clinton campaign just released a statement arguing that the Obama campaign is exploiting a picture on Drudge of Barack Obama wearing traditional Somali clothing to distract voters from "serious issues"
In Drudge's post, which is currently leading his site, he says that the photo was secretly circulated by Clinton staffers, a claim that Obama campaign manager David Plouffe gave credence to and jumped on, releasing a statement calling it "the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering we've seen from either party in this election."
Here's a response from Clinton campaign manager Maggie Williams:
"Enough.
"If Barack Obama's campaign wants to suggest that a photo of him wearing traditional Somali clothing is divisive, they should be ashamed. Hillary Clinton has worn the traditional clothing of countries she has visited and had those photos published widely.
"This is nothing more than an obvious and transparent attempt to distract from the serious issues confronting our country today and to attempt to create the very divisions they claim to decry.
"We will not be distracted."
That still leaves unanswered Drudge's accusation, picked up by Plouffe, that the Clinton campaign leaked the photo. I'm waiting to hear back from the campaign on that.

Clearly the Clinton's are desperate, adopting dirty tricks; that is not the honorable way to go - another squanderer of political capital - imagine if they are elected;
Shame, shame
Business as usual, I'm sure the pic was waiting for someone to run with it, be it the Clintons or the GOP. If there is nothing wrong with the pic, why get so bothered? The right loves stuff like this and they will never let it die, especillay when they can say it was a Clinton who leaked it.
I do love it so...the Clinton's are creating a perfect playbook for McCain in the Fall. Thanks Hillary!

Among Billaryland's inner circle, Maggie Williams is renowned as the ultimate Hillary loyalist, fierce and unwavering in her devotion for nearly 25 years.
As the First Lady's chief of staff, her office was in the West Wing, right next to Hillary's.
Her title gave away the extent of her clout: assistant to the President as well as Hillary's gatekeeper and chief enforcer.
Even detractors agree with her admirers that Williams would go to the mat for Hillary.
A Kansas City native, Williams, 53, was a central player in the Clinton damage-control machine during the White House years.
In 1995, a uniformed Secret Service officer swore under oath he saw her leave White House lawyer and Hillary confidant Vince Foster's office carrying documents after Foster committed suicide. Williams denied it.
She ran up more than $100,000 in legal bills defending Hillary in various investigations.
A former aide to Reps. Morris Udall of Arizona and Robert Torricelli (later senator) of New Jersey, Williams' ties to Hillary date to when they both were at the Children's Defense Fund in the 1980s.
After the Clintons left the White House, Williams was named president of Fenton Communications, a leading public relations and consulting firm.
When Bill and Hillary Clinton made remarks before the South Carolina primary that offended African-Americans, the campaign put her on the airwaves to try to quell the uproar.
"She's never run a political campaign. . . " a Democratic booster said.

You sir throw the rock and hide the hand. You people forget that he was the first one to start negative attackts against Hillary in Sept, Oct & November. He is a very sneakey individual and He gets everyone all emotional with his empty speeches. So Drudge throws a rock through the window and claims it was a racist attack by Hillary, and you all fall over yourselves to help him. Like it or not the Obama campaign is being applauded by the Republicans. Why? Do you think they all of sudden have discovered "bi-partisanism"?"
There is a big difference between Obama's and Clinton's tactic. Obama is Sticking to the issues. She did support Nafta and he has a right to send out a flyer pointing that out just like she send out a flyer pointing out that his healthcare was NOT universal. He said her health care will force some americans to pay it is true. The people have a right to know. These political pundits keep saying well there is no difference between the candidates on policies. Hillary is the one that keeps harping about her healthcare being truly universal while his is not why shouldnt he point out yeah it may be but the government forces you to buy into it. He is pointing out the downside of hers. Just like she points out the down side of his. Fair attacks.
Lately however Hillary is attacking not the issues but Obama's character. Plagiarism gets at his authenticity, saying he has connection to some radical group of the 60's another character attack nothing do with the issue and now this Muslim garb that he is wearing as all dignatires and elected officials do when they visit other countries again what does that have to do with the issues.
