Clinton's Late-Night Calls From the Economy
April 2, 2008 | 3:51 p.m
In a conference call happening now, Mark Penn introduced what he called "the second in what has become known as the '3 a.m. call' advertisements."
The ad, airing in Pennsylvania and focusing on what would happen if the 3 a.m. call was about a crisis in the economy, will draw a contrast between Clinton and John McCain.
"Today, with the ad, she is opening what could be perhaps one of the most significant arguments," said Penn. He also made the case for Clinton's superior electability against McCain.
"Despite the publicity that I think Senator Obama has received," said Penn, "he is nine points behind McCain in Florida and Ohio." The polls showed a much tighter contest between McCain and Clinton, he said.
