De Blasio Ready to Shovel for Hillary, Doesn't See Room for Bloomberg

Bill de Blasio is prepared for anything on caucus day.

“I am in our meeting room at the Clinton headquarters, on Fifth Avenue South, in Clinton County, with my hand on our group of six shovels,” said the manager of Hillary Clinton’s 2000 Senate campaign, who is currently campaigning with her in Iowa.

"The race is going to be close," he added, “and it’s been snowy. And you can’t afford to have your car get stuck.”

I asked de Blasio (even though he is, of course, a bit biased right now) what he thought of the idea of Michael Bloomberg jumping into the presidential race.

“I think the argument for an independent candidate is weakened when there are strong alternatives in the major parties,” he told me. “I think this is a year when it is harder to argue than an independent has space to cover that is unspoken for.”

It is interesting that Council Member De Blasio is among the many New York City Council Members who voted themselves a 25 percent pay increase -on top of their base salaries of $90,000 - for what is supposed to be their part-time City Council job. As Council Member De Blasio and other New York City Council Members have been in Iowa for the past few days and will continue to be there through Wednesday, it might be insightful if the City Council Speaker or the New York City press could ascertain which days they were actually at work at the New York City governmen jobs for which our taxes are paying them.

Or does the Speaker forgive absenteeism of New York City Council Members if they are out shoveling snow in Iowa for Hillary?

Sure I suppose that's the case, but where are these strong alternatives? Can an intelligent and level headed person survive the current primary process? I think not. Join the effort the Draft Mike Bloomberg today http://www.uniteformike.com

Why is a stinkin' City Coucil member from Brooklyn getting so much play in your online rag? Wouldn't be the fact that he is running for Borough Prez? Get over him Azi, he's a loser, just ask anybody from Carroll Gardens, Kennsington, Park Slope and Windsor Terrace. The sum of his advocates/press reps seem to be the online NYO, the NYT, and Big Daddy Marty -= his political step father, oh yeah, and that big bad cruel and corrupt Dem machine.

Just here to knock him down a few pegs online, he really is a do nothing snit who ignores/disdains his constituents.
