Feds to Announce Indictment Related to City Council
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York just sent a release saying that they will announce "the unsealing of an indictment involving New York City Council discretionary funds" at one o'clock today.
The announcement will be made by the U.S. Attorney in the city, Michael Garcia, and the city Department of Investigation Commissioner, Rose Gil Hearn, at Garcia's office near City Hall.
UPDATE: NY1 reports:
Asquith Reid, the former chief of staff to a councilman Kendall Stewart, and Joycinth "Sue" Anderson, another staff member, are named in the indictment.
More here.

I think Quinn is going down. Let's see if any of the Councilmembers get immunity for testifying in this case. I think some will.
Hopefully this will be the beginning of a lot more, but right now isn't this indictment not really related to Quinn's slush fund? It seems like a seperate story.
I'd also hope that whoever keeps posting the Village Voice story would move on.
This is directed to the person who is using the name of Thomas Curry Esq. in the above post.
Thomas Curry is no longer a staff member in the City Council and did not approve the use of his name on this blog. Please be advised that you are opening yourself up to litigation by using Mr. Curry's name in an unauthorized fashion.
Although Mr. Curry may be referenced in some of the City Council blogs, he did not authorize the use of his name.
Thank you.
Retained Counsel
And I'm sure that Joan Povony authorized the use of her name as well..
People need to move on.
Tom relax--- Quinn is guilty-- she should go and you shouldn't get so worked up about people using your name... you should be happy--- this is the most fame you will achieve.
