Hillary to Address Major Backers in D.C.

Hillary Clinton has begun to ask her influential backers to be in Washington on May 14 for a meeting at her home, according to a major fund-raiser. Separately, the fund-raiser said, Bill Clinton will be speaking with top donors this afternoon on a conference call.

What's she going to say? That she is the self-appointed leader of working class white folks and so they should ignore the reality that hers is a losing campaign and continue to give her money?
Hillary is a Neocon monster

Pretty much! ;-p
Sadly, Hillary is probably the stronger candidate in the general. As Obama's red-diaper past comes out in measured doses, culminating in the secret photos of him hanging out a Revolution Books on Ashland, we'll be looking at McGovern Redux (except McGovern, left-liberal as he was, probably didn't hate his own country.)
What's the slogan gonna be? Re-do 72!?

Dirt McGirt --
wow a bookstore! Hmm.. offhand let's examine Hillary working at a law firm with communist lead partners -- defending 60s radicals, and willing to pardon terrorists for senate votes?
Dirt McGirt,
I think Obama is betting on the fact that this country has progressed from the days of McCarthyism/guilt by association. After all, it offered us 8 years of misery, with the worst ratings of a president in history (well, next to Nixon). If November shows that we have not progressed that far (as you speculate), then surely this country deserves another 4 years of misery McCain. We have to keep falling until the American people 'get it.'
I'm praying that we have finally learned our lesson, and I hope you are with us.
Obama '08
Maybe she's looking for backers to run as an Independent. I hope so she is the only person worth voting for. I will not vote for Obama
Obama's message is that he is banking on the American people who want their country back - back on the right road around the globe, back on the right road for our economy, and hopefully back on the right road to recovery of failed policies of Shrub. I want my country back and I hope the rest of our society feel the same! I do NOT want 4 more years of a Shrub LIAR IN CHIEF for which McSame would be. (McSame is W's extension and a 'crafty deception expert'; he is great at 'talking around questions" as opposed to 'straight talking' "my friends".)
Dirt McGirt, If a bookstore Obama visited taints all that he is, what are we to think of your chosen moniker? I mean, if you are going go with the whole 'guilt by association' thing, shouldn't you choose a better handle 'Dirt McGirt'? I know most of the nerds posting here don't know who Ol' Dirty was, but some of us do.
Anon(s) - the Revolution Bookstore thing was a joke, but the fact that one could dismiss that a serious presidential candidate has a history with the Revolutionary Communist Party (revcom.us) I find a little too troubling to laugh at. And yes, Hillary's got some red dirt in her past, too. Not saying she's any better as a prospective president; just speculating on the viability of the candidate that the DNC (and the MSM) is apparently going to run.
Granny - McCain a Bush surrogate? Are you off your old-granny meds?!? Maybe for those sad BDS-infected types who type in all caps and call a grown man names like "Shrub" to offset their own frustrating powerlessness and irrelevance Sen. McCain may appear to be a pea in a pod with the President, but to anyone seriously interested in politics or the future of the country, the differences couldn't be more stark and apparent. In some cases troubling, and in many not so much. But it's all behind us now. He's the candidate; let's regroup and proceed.
Hopefully, Hillary wants to tell them in person that she is conceding.
I dunno, anon#3, guess I figured "Big Baby Jesus" would dilute the message.
As for guilt by association, I'm not sure it's that viable a strategy for the GOP anyway. For most potential Obama voters, implying he has more than an accidental connection to Communism/Socialism/Red Fascism/kooks with paper mache' Bush heads would do little more than get hung up in the ignorance web before it hits any useful part of the brain. For the remainder, it's more feature than bug, IYKWIM.
It's weird, the second-order nature of criticisms of Obama. First he's attacked for words he never said nor heard, now the argument goes something like "Not me... I'm not racist, but so many other people are, they will never vote for him."
Voters themselves seem to have little trouble with him; he's beating the most formidable non-incumbent Democratic Primary candidate in decades handily in popular vote, states, and delegates.
Dirt, tough to argue with results. Obama's winning. Clearly, whoever you're for is losing. Learn to live with it. The people get to decide the outcome.
Bill clinton is Mr. Haney from "Green Acres". Hillary is the Anjelika Houston character in "The Grifters".
It's ironic that Hillary is holding the meeting with her chief fundraisers on May 14, one day before she has to relase her campaign finance reports. Must be some pretty bad news that she has to share with them before the report hits the public.
Hillary and Ron Paul can get together and host their own alternate reality conventions...
