Hillary Bundler: Others Are Jumping, I'll Stay on the Ship

One of Hillary Clinton's local "Hillraisers" predicts that the campaign's fund-raisers and donors will begin to defect from Clinton to Obama "sooner than later" if they haven't already.

John Catsimatidis, a New York supermarket magnate and Clinton supporter, said that the number of people who had written checks to Clinton who were now sending money, or bundling checks, for Obama were "too numerous to mention."

Catsimatidis declined to name any of the donors in question.

"Listen, I'm loyal to my friend," he said.

Moments later, as we were discussing the fact that Obama has now vaulted past Clinton in some national polls, Catsimatidis said, "I go down with the ship if the ship's going down."

UPDATE: Some of Clinton's national finance chairs dispute such defections have taken place.

At least this guy is loyal...Maybe that's why he is so successful.

Mr. Catsimatidis, a long-time, extremely loyal Bill/Hill-Clinton-ite, should only show the same loyalty, committment, dedication and interest in some of the supermarkets he still runs in NYC, especially on Roosevelt Island. Recent media citations show his interests are mostly in real estate and not real people who have to shop in his supermarkets. His desire to be the next Mayor of NYC is especially disturbing, as running a supermarket chain and making $$ on residental & business real estate hardly qualifies him to lead the city anywhere. And he sure wont get any votes from the Roosevelt Islanders. Perhaps he would like to come to RI to raise money for Hillary and lower some prices and supervise his market a little better.

Too bad he ditched his loyalty to the Democratic Party once he got visions of Gracie Mansion in his oversized head. One thing's for sure -- if he does somehow succeed in getting the '09 GOP mayoral line, it won't be on the basis of his movie-star-handsome good looks!

As a major "bundler" for hillary, I can state definiteively that there has not been any defection of Hillary supporters and in fact the fund raising has never been better. yesterday almost 1800 people attended a low dollar fund raiser in New York followed by two small private fund raisers which produced almost $250,000. In fact February will be the largest fundraising month for Hillary with well over $20 mill anticipated.Ever since the announcement of Hillary's loan the internet has been producing significant new traffic. Mr Catsimitedes' information is unfortunately way out of date.
