If Fossella Runs, Bloomberg Would 'Think About' Backing Him

br/> When asked at a press conference in the Bronx whether he would support Vito Fossella for re-election, the mayor said he'd consider it.
"If he ran and he'd ask me, I'd have to think about it," Bloomberg said.
Bloomberg said that Fossella has fought for the city "every time we've asked him," but that the congressman has to take care of his legal and personal problems.
UPDATE: Sally Goldenberg, who asked Bloomberg the question, notes that Fossella was the citywide G.O.P. chairman of Bloomberg's 2005 reelection campaign.
