Inner Circle Re-Write Frenzy
Some of the reporters scrambling to report on Eliot Spitzer right now are also facing a major rewrite job on the Inner Circle Show, an annual charity event where New York City reporters make fun of elected officials.
It's taking place Saturday in Midtown, with a dress rehersal on Friday.
A high-ranking Inner Circle source said,"There's an Andrew Cuomo and Eliot Spitzer number, but now, it's going to be totally rewritten."
The source added, "It's definitely going to be in the show. It's the only thing people in the entire political universe are talking about."

As one fortunate enough to have been able to attend the Inner Circle Friday dress rehearsals for at least 15 years now, I could really empathize with its creators, at best always harried and down-to-the-wire. But these past few days have just had to be an absolutely traumatic experience. Wow! Inner Circle’s lyricists must have been hurling blobs of ink all over the joint because one thing this crazy show surely is, it’s topical! Even Elliot Spitzer, had he been able to be that proverbial fly on the wall, would have been extremely pleased and proud to observe what his moment under brilliant sunlight was able to wreak. I suspect that the creative souls of the annual Inner Circle frolic will certainly require advanced resuscitation, including double shots of everything.
