Interview Editor Ingrid Sischy Quits

Interview editor Ingrid Sischy has quit. Women's Wear Daily first reported it this evening and a spokesman for Ms. Sischy confirmed the news to Media Mob.
Ms. Sischy's departure from the magazine was reported by Gawker on Jan. 10, but a spokeswoman denied that rumor to Media Mob and the executive editor of Interview denied it to Gawker, forcing them to later run a correction.
Updates to come.
UPDATE: Ms. Sischy's spokesman has sent out a press release. In it, Ms. Sischy said she resigned today because Sandra Brant, CEO and publisher of Interview's parent company Brant Publications, sold her 50 percent stake in the company to co-owner and her ex-husband Peter Brant this afternoon.
"With Sandra Brant's decision to sell her interest in Brant Publications, it is only appropriate that I resign at this time. Sandy and I have worked together as a team, and that has been a huge part of the fun of it," she wrote.
"When I was first drafted as editor after Andy Warhol’s death I thought I’d stay a few years, devote myself to helping the magazine find its post-Warhol life, and then get back to my writing. Although leaving the magazine and wonderful staff behind is difficult, it is the right decision and one that will allow the new owners to establish their own editorial stamp on the magazine. I am now more than ever, eager to get back to my writing and have several big projects in front of me that need my attention."
“Managing such an important part of Andy Warhol’s legacy has been a huge responsibility and I am proud of what Sandy and my editorial team have accomplished in terms of content and growth. I wish everyone the best of luck and hope this great American magazine will continue to flourish,” Sischy concluded.

Twenty years in absolute control of a magazine.
THE dream come true!
What's she got to show for it?
Revenge is a dish best served up cold.
(Good job, Peter.)
Finally the sushi and her girlfriend are gone!!!
WWD has details on The New Guard—Glenn O'Brien and Fabien Baron will oversee Interview, Art in America and Antiques. "To say that Interview is a product of Ingrid's friends< " Peter Brant told WWD, "that's like saying what's Vogue going to be like without Grace Mirabella? Anna Wintour does a really great job."
Interview has been irrelevant for at least 10 years and its about time Ingrid and her tired small circle of regulars step aside.
