via BigJimIndustries.com
The numbers are in: James Frey's Bright Shiny Morning, published by the flagship imprint of HarperCollins on May 13, sold 14,343 copies in its first week, putting it at No. 9 on the New York Times best-seller list. (It should be noted BookScan only tracks 70 percent of total sales.)
We hear HarperCollins is pleased.

But where did Garth Stein land?
James Frey is the Steve Howe of today's "literary" world. No more than a pathological pedant, he's parlayed his perfidy into celebrity. Now it would seem (if these sales numbers are true), he's proven that in this era of rampant narcissism; talentless hacks who betray the trust of others are rewarded. This while serious writers, journalists, artists et al go unrecognized and/or undiscovered. A pox on those in the publishing houses who enable such people and processes.
I say James Frey...You go Boy! most of the history books, or should I say His-Story books in school told more lies then a uesd car salesmem. I guest it's okay for old white men to tell lies, but not young ones. Who do you think taught them how to lie?
