Jeb Bush Endorses McCain

The McCain campaign just announced that Jeb Bush, older brother of George W. and former Governor of Florida, is endorsing John McCain.

Although his family is hardly at its most popular, the elder Bush brother's endorsement makes a statement about the Republican establishment rallying around McCain. George W. has been encouraging Republicans to support McCain and called the Senator a "true conservative," he has stopped short of an endorsement.

Jeb confirmed that he wrote a check to McCain's campaign over the weekend.

Here's the release:

ARLINGTON, VA -- U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today announced that former Florida Governor Jeb Bush has endorsed John McCain for president. "John McCain is a patriot and devoted conservative leader," said Governor Bush. "Like no other candidate in the field, John McCain has made tremendous sacrifices for this nation. He is beholden to no interest other than that of the public good. He is determined and steadfast in his commitment to reducing the burden of high taxes, restoring the people's trust in their government, and winning the war against radical Islamic extremists. It is with pride that I announce my endorsement of John McCain for president."

John McCain thanked Governor Bush, saying, "I am very proud to have Jeb Bush's support. He has a distinguished record of conservative leadership and I admire his dedicated service to the people of Florida. He makes a great addition to our growing team of Republican leaders." Jeb Bush was born in Midland, Texas. After earning his bachelor's degree at the University of Texas at Austin, Mr. Bush married Columba Garnica Gallo. Mr. Bush started his career in Florida politics as the Chairman of the Dade County Republican Party. He was later appointed to serve as Florida's Secretary of Commerce. Mr. Bush served as Florida's 43rd governor from 1999-2006 and was the first Republican ever to serve two terms.

And how does an endorsement by a radioactive Bush play out as anything but a minus to "Hundred Years" McCain prospects of gaining the nomination? Jeb's skeletons are rattling in the closet, his name is "Mudd" and he has his OLDER (not younger) brother to thank for that.

They both had zero qualifications to run for any office, and Florida and the U.S. have been swooning in pain since the day they were "appointed." He left Florida in a financial shambles, and pretty boy Charlie Crist has gotten about NOWHERE in solving his inherited problems. Jeb is and was singularly DISLIKED by Floridians, despite the constant claims by friends of the GOP of his popularity. Poppycock.

Um...Jeb left Florida with the highest approval ratings of any Florida governor. I guess you would still rather have that crook Lawton Chiles as governor (rotting in his grave) you snapperhead.

Service to Florida!? Is draining the State Investment Fund of $900 million service? Of course he had experience defrauding the Broward Savings and Loan on a $5 million loan.
More experience helping his buddy Recarey (IMC) scam the public through Medicare for $30 million a month, a billion total!

Is turning your back on citizens of Florida running off to the Tsunami after the hurricanes in 2004 Service. Where was his service then? There was no accountability over distribution of FEMA funds. People in Miami where no hurricane hit got benefits. Many thousands of Floridians after four years still have not recovered. In many respects the nightmare of red tape and Jeb’s failure to act after the hurricanes was worse.

Our school system is in shambles ranking near the bottom nationally. Brother Neil has profited from placement of his useless IGNITE! Curriculum on Wheels (COW) in Floriduh classrooms.

Oh yes Columba is a real gem. Trying to smuggle jewelry through customs. Is her example the reason Noelle became a drug addict? No accountability?

If Sen. McCain accepts Jeb’s endorsement and check without an investigation into the source of the funds he is a fool.

Jeb Bush may count on amnesia, but there are many who will never forget his term as Governor of the State of Floriduh! We will not forget stolen elections and his sidekick Katherine Harris.

Hello? Is anyone home? Jeb Bush is W's YOUNGER brother, not older. Duh, Duh, Duh! I'm a New York Observer reporter! Oh Di Oh Di Oh. Jeeze.

I liked Jeb as Governor and he was a good one, far far better than Chiles was, thats for sure. But I wonder where his head is now! McCain a Conservative! On one simple issue he is, on the others he is as Liberal as Hillary Clinton, no wait that is wrong, he is MORE Liberal than her and that takes a lot to get there.

In the past he has continually voted to cut Defense Spending and that also included Weapons and Gear used by our Troops to keep them safe! Conservative, I think NOT! Now McCain says he will after trying to block tax cuts, make them permanent? He says he will appoint Conservative Justices after helping to Block them? He says he will, well he says a lot of things that contradict what he actually has done!

When the most Liberal Papers endorse him, It makes me wonder if McCain is another George H Bush and his "No New Taxes" Pledge, we all remember that one now don't we! And to top it off, He was John Kerrys First choice for VP! which he turned down!
So cmon Jeb, where is your head Now!

Yeah: JB is the younger brother of W. All said, public leadership is not the less-complex (albeit not easy) job it once was. One problem is that us Americans have become addicted to the media to show us how well or how poorly our public officials are performing. Although it would be constitutionally impossible to implement, wouldn't it be nice if we Americans could live with a situation wherein we were required to apply for and maintain a license to vote? Not too difficult, just pass a test that helps assure all of us that those who close the curtain on election day actually know what America is, what it stands for, and what a candidate's duties, responsibilities and qualifications should be. I guess that idea would be opposed by the majority of elected officials who currently administer affairs on our behalf, since, of course, they campaigned for their jobs by appealing to our most momentary or emotionally leveragable interests.

Jeb Bush is looking very old and grey in this photo. Here in Florida, I do not have much time as a teacher to ponder who he is endorsing for prez.

This SW FL GOP school district has a new superintendent - a retired Army colonel whom I think has fake credentials.

The local newspaper does NO investigative journalism whatsoever. So, I made a quiz about this guy's background. Check it out and you tell me if he's faking his educational credentials:

2007 Jeb Bush joins board at Lehman (August 2007) Former Gov. Jeb Bush already a handsomely compensated member of the Tenet Healthcare board, has been given another high-level seat at the table.
Lehman Brothers was the same firm that had sold the state fund $842 million of mortgage - backed debt in July & August 2007.
**> Those securities defaulted within four months, and totaled more failing debt than any other bank sold the state, Florida records show.

And a couple other curious things to consider -
How does a degree in Latin American studies get you to high ranking bank positions? Unless your last name is Bush that is...

Jeb Bush went to the University of Texas where he earned a degree in Latin American affairs...

NOW:
Jeb Bush, President - CNLBancshares, Inc.
A multi-bank holding company headquartered in Orlando, Florida. Through its subsidiaries: CNLBank; CNLBank, First Coast; CNLBank, Southwest Florida; and CNLBank Wealth Management (collectively, “CNLBank”), the company operates offices in Orlando, Jacksonville, Ft. Lauderdale and Naples, Florida and has assets of $1.4 billion.

2007
Jeb Bush, Advisory Board Lehman Brothers
A Worldwide Financial Services Company.

And a short side note - It is odd that most Bush kids have all been arrested or in trouble with legal issues? Or is that just a Bush trait in general?

The 545 People Responsible For All Of U.S. Woes

BY Charley Reese
(This article was first published by the Orlando Sentinel Star newspaper)

(Date of publication unknown) -- Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, we have deficits? Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does. You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does. You and I don't write the tax code. Congress does. You and I don't set fiscal policy. Congress does. You and I don't control monetary policy. The Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president and nine Supreme Court justices - 545 human beings out of the 235 million - are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered but private central bank.

I excluded all but the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it.

No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislation's responsibility to determine how he votes.

A CONFIDENCE CONSPIRACY
Don't you see how the con game that is played on the people by the politicians? Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of Tip O'Neill, who stood up and criticized Ronald Reagan for creating deficits.

The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it. The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating appropriations and taxes.

O'neill is the speaker of the House. He is the leader of the majority party. He and his fellow Democrats, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetos it, they can pass it over his veto.

REPLACE SCOUNDRELS

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 235 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts - of incompetence and irresponsibility.

I can't think of a single domestic problem, from an unfair tax code to defense overruns, that is not traceable directly to those 545 people.

When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair. If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red. If the Marines are in Lebanon, it's because they want them in Lebanon.

There are no insoluble government problems. Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take it.

Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exist disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation" or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people and they alone are responsible. They and they alone have the power. They and they alone should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses - provided they have the gumption to manage their own employees.
