Raise Your Hand if You're Sure: Ronson and Lohan

In an attempt to intellectualize Lindsay Lohan's relationship with best friend Samantha Ronson, today's New York Times 'Style' section published a piece about how all women are actually a little gay.

The article was pegged to a documentary called Bi the Way, which is based on a series of studies performed by Meredith Chivers, a research fellow at the Center for Addiction and Mental Health at the University of Toronto, that purport to show that heterosexual women respond more to images of naked women, than of naked men.

It also talks about bisexuality being viewed as cool. (One of the film’s directors got the idea for it after watching an episode of O.C. in which Mischa Barton made out with a girl.) From The Times:

Even in a culture that often cycles through moments of bisexual chic—Britney and Madonna, make way for Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson (photographed smooching in Cannes, France)—and despite survey data showing that young people, in particular, are open to sexual experimentation, bisexuality still tends to be treated as a novelty, a titillating fluke, a phase or even a cover for homosexuality."

While hooked up to something called a "photoplethysmograph," which measure their level of arousal (yikes!), women were shown images of naked men doing yoga, snow-capped Himalayas, and women exercising. The female subjects got equally aroused by the naked men and the mountains, but exercising women got their blood flowing.

“For heterosexual women, looking at a naked man walking on the beach is about as exciting as looking at landscapes,” Dr. Chivers told The Times.

Poor, Lindsay. No matter how hard she tries to be edgy with her girl-love, she's actually totally ordinary.

Can one's tongue be affected/infected by herpes? Does the tongue exhibit the lesions associated with herpes? If so, I'll wager Ronson's looks like Dresden after the fire bombing.
