Last week, Media Mob reported that the independent feminist magazine Bitch was desperately trying to raise $40,000 to get its next issue out.
At the time, Debbie Rasmussen, the magazine's publisher, and Andi Zeisler, its editorial/creative director, took to Youtube and the magazine's Web site to ask readers to help raise the necessary funds, reminding them that the magazine's "fate is in your hands."
Well, as of today, Bitch has raised $55,000, more than enough to get the next issue out. The question now is, can they keep their "feminist response to pop culture" in print? As their call for further donations states, "More funding means more time to strategize and implement a sustainable organizational model."
