Ceramic Rods Will Be Removed at the Base of the Times Tower to Deter Climbers

Sewell Chan at City Room is reporting that the ceramic rods at the base of Times Tower will be removed in order to prevent any more urban climbers from scaling the building. Chan sources it to a "law enforcement official" and says that rods that go as high as 9 feet from the bottom of the tower will be taken away. Last night, a third person climbed the tower in the past month.
