Gwen Ifill Not Worried That 'One-Day Blog Chatter Is Going to Destroy My Reputation'
October 2, 2008 | 10:49 a.m.
Yesterday, a broad range of conservative Web sites questioned whether Gwen Ifill could do a fair job of moderating tonight's vice presidential debate, given that the veteran PBS broadcaster is about to publish a book in January called The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama.
Ms. Ifill responded to the criticism in an interview with David Bauder of the Associated Press.
From the article:
"I've got a pretty long track record covering politics and news, so I'm not particularly worried that one-day blog chatter is going to destroy my reputation," Ifill said. "The proof is in the pudding. They can watch the debate tomorrow night and make their own decisions about whether or not I've done my job."
