Sarah Palin and The New-Clear Option

Over at the Politico, Jonathan Martin corrects a previous report by Erick Erickson on RedState.com that claimed Sarah Palin spoke off the cuff last night rather than reading from a teleprompter. Erickson says sources close to McCain told him that the teleprompter malfunctioned during Ms. Palin's speech and consequently forced her to improvise. We can confirm that that's false: like Martin, Media Mob was sitting in the press section and could see plainly that the teleprompter was working just fine.

Funny thing though: both times Ms. Palin was called to say the word "nuclear," ("we're going to lay more pipelines, build more nuclear plants, create jobs with clean coal", "Terrorist states are seeking nuclear weapons without delay") the word was spelled "new-clear" on the screen. Which is interesting, because it suggests someone in the party (maybe Ms. Palin herself) really, really didn't want her to mispronounce this word. Why all of a sudden does the Republican party care about this, after not caring about it-- defiantly, it seemed sometimes!-- for eight years?

In other teleprompter news: it seemed for the last five minutes or so of Giuliani's speech that whoever was running the teleprompter had orders to get him off the stage as soon as possible, because the crawl was moving extremely quickly, and skipped over relatively big chunks of the prepared remarks as it tumbled towards the finish line. Jonathan Martin's Politico post, which says that Giuliani's speech took a lot longer than it was supposed to because he kept going off script, seems to corroborate that theory.

Whoever wrote the comment "OBAMA IS DESPERATE!" (above) is an idiot. That's all. Thank you for your time.

Maybe a deal involving Obama dumping Biden & McCain dumping Palin at the same time could fly. Palin's life is a soap opera. Biden never has recovered from his history of plagarism. Both candidates for veep are damaged goods. Finding 2 people to replace the dumped veep's will be almost impossible. But Biden & Palin have got to go & go quickly.

Obama the JOKE! (not verified) says:

Obama is a joke!
He cannot stick to anything he says.
He changes with the polls.
He has no stand but that he wants to be President.
Why? Because he gave supposingly a great speech in 2004 and wrote two books.
What has he done to prove he can lead?
Nothing.
I'm from Hawaii, but I live in Oregon now and I know that
the people of hawaii are voting for him just
because he is from Hawaii.
He never did anything for them.
He got everything free there, his education, there are so
many people that deserve a break there the hawaiian people the asian people that have been there much longer than his family.
He went to Punahou the most ELITE school in Hawaii and was on the second string basketball team.
He has done a lot of drugs, who knows what has happened to his brain cells.
America is better than this, we need someone who has actually stood up for us and will continue to do so and not change his mind according to which way the wind is blowing.

McCain loves this country, he will not associate with terroist, or give evil dictators a night in the Lincoln bedroom.
Get smart people, this is not about who can give the best speech, or what party will be first to give a black man the chance to be president.
This is about our country, our freedoms, it has to be the right black man (and there are alot more qualified out there besides Obama).

You blame President Bush for the gas price, well blame congress who has held us captive not wanting to do anything about it. We have so many options for energy in this country. Congress is the one that has brought us to the knees of Middle East and South American leaders that hate us.
Democrates what us to be indebted to them, to government.
Not me I want to work hard, give back to America, and know that the person in the Whitehouse is going to keep me safe and has my interest at heart. Not their pocket book, or how they are going to make history.
The media has too much power. They are suppose to report the news in an unbiased way, not make the news. That is what they have been doing. Wake-up and pay attention, the media has too much power!!

"Obama the Joke" has been sniffing too much McCain glue.

Your platitudes simply demonstrate that you emotionally are committed to McCain and are willing to grasp often patently nonsense drivel from the media to support your position.

If you care to dig into Mr McCain's flip-flopping, the record of his incredibly nasty, hair-trigger temper and his meager at best accomplishments, along with what clearly looks like a lifelong career of very self-serving behavior, (Just read the comments or watch the videos by people who served with him.), his time in the Hanoi Hilton notwithstanding, you will understand how I, as a lifelong registered Republican, cannot possibly vote for him as Chief Executive.

McCain's current comments on war and his comments on foreign policy, especially juxtaposed to the almost 180 degree opposite position he took when the White House was occupied by a Democrat, are way too reminiscent of autocrats from Hitler back to Caesar who ruined great nations that had been built by true republics, then lapsed into dictatorial empires (as the USA appears to be fast becoming) by their exploits.

"For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong."

Wake up.

'supposingly' ???

Solid arguments cannot be made on invented words. Research both your facts and your spelling before your further mar our collective conciousness.

the mispronounication isnt a mistake. its a way of softening the message. when promoting energy plan they talk of 'new clear' -as it gives the impression of clean / fresh / transparent. its a way of not startling the eclectorate. its a subtle form of persuasion used by NPL practitioners and magicians. we should should be worried about manipulation
