White Tiger Author Aravind Adiga Re-Ups With Free Press For Book of 'Interconnected Stories'

Aravind Adiga, whose novel The White Tiger won this year's Booker Prize, has signed a new contract with Free Press, his U.S. publisher.

Free Press will put out a collection of Mr. Adiga's short stories in June 2009; according to an announcement in the Publishers Marketplace deal-wire, the stories will be "interconnected" (like Keith Gessen's All the Sad Young Literary Men or the Tom Rachman book Susan Golomb sold to Dial Press in October, it sounds like) and collectively serve as a prelude to The White Tiger.

Free Press's Amber Qureshi, widely considered to be one of the brightest young editors in the game right now, bought the rights from Mr. Adiga's new(ish) agent David Godwin.
