'Mediamob@observer.com Thought You Would Be Interested In This Piece About Golf'
Despite all the attention that the Times' McCain piece got today, as of 6:14 p.m., it has been emailed less on nytimes.com than stories like, "Most Americans Are Giving up Golf," "Celebrating the Semicolon in a Most Unlikely Location," and another called, "Gentlemen, 5 Easy Steps to Living Long and Well." The McCain story doesn't even appear in the top-10.
The Times oddly doesn't register its "most viewed" stories, but if you take a look at its most blogged it gets way newsier. The McCain story is no. 1, Castro is no. 3 and there are two pieces on Pakistan in the top-10.
So what does that tell us about people who hit the "email" function?

This story has a couple of dimensions: the romance part and McCain's rather suprising alliance with special interests.
The romance part is a big yawn. Haven't we been down this road a time or two? I think married men are known to chase skirts and certainly politicans are known to chase money. However, it's really magic when sex and money are linked together. Eureka!
No doubt many married folks may be quite busy today having an affair themselves, so that may explain a few things. Who knows?
