Obama Campaign on Power Controversy, Goolsbee Controversy

On a conference call that just ended, Obama campaign manager David Plouffe sought to raise questions about Hillary Clinton's unreleased tax returns, but instead ended up fielding questions about controversies involving advisers to his own campaign.
"This point about vetting and electablility does raise some questions about Senator Clinton," said Plouffe, responding to the Clinton campaign's assertion that Obama had not been sufficiently vetted. He added, "Hillary Clinton is one of the most secretive politicians in America today."
When the call was opened up to questions, reporters wanted to know about the resignation of foreign policy adviser Samantha Power and the enduring controversy surrounding economic adviser (and Power's college buddy) Austan Goolsbee's conversation with Canadian government officials about NAFTA.
"On the Samantha Power issue," Plouffe began. "We think she made the right decision today. Senator Obama believes that those comments weren't appropriate and while she is a very brilliant person and has been a valuable part of our campaign, we cannot condone those types of comments."
When asked about Power's contention in a BBC interview that Obama would not necessarily stick to the plan he has outlined for Iraq as a senator and presidential candidate if realities on the ground dictated a different approach, Plouffe said, "No, he obviously believes going to Iraq was a mistake in the first place," said Plouffe. "He has been and will continue to be crystal clear with the American people that if and when he is elected president, we will be out of Iraq, as he said the time frame would be about 16 months at the most."
Plouffe also said he regretted the way the Goolsbee controversy was handled, but it wasn't clear if he meant by Goolsbee or the campaign.
"It was a request [by the Canadian official] that came to him, and he went over there, and obviously we regret how it was handled and wish all the information had been provided on the first run, at the first moment," he said.

WHY WILL HILLARY NOT RELEASE HER - 2006 - TAX RETURNS? - IS SHE HIDING THE INCOME SHE IS RECEIVING FROM MIDEAST COUNTRIES? - WHY WILL SHE NOT RELEASE HER WHITE HOUSE PAPERS? --- HILLARY IS NOT ONLY SECRETIVE BUT ALSO DECEITFUL. - SHE IS MUCH LIKE BILL WHO LIED TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ABOUT HIS AFFAIR WITH MONICA LEWINSKY. - REMEMBER, BILL IS A CONVICTED FELON, PERJURY. - HILLARY WAS HIS ADVISER AND CONFIDANT.

Those that believe Mr. Obama's campaign belief of Mrs. Clinton releasing her tax returns may somehow cause embarrassment to her campaign, also help perpetuate the risk of the possible consequences when the public takes interest in these allegations and could find there's no basis to it once she has.. Putting such importance in something where the likelihood that she's committed no wrongdoing could have a backlash effect, since I don't believe it a rational assessment she'd be running for the office she seeks and have such an easily exploitable burdensome target to attack her though. If she is found of some wrongdoing, then let the chips fall where they may, but it puts Mr. Obama's campaign in a light of old politics if none is found, and a backlash of opinion that goes with it considering the theme of his campaign.
Since I'm not judging her on how much money she makes but her policies, I'm content in waiting for her to file her returns at the last minute like I probably will.

Facts beg to differ.
President of the United States Bill Clinton was impeached by the House of Representatives on December 19, 1998, and acquitted by the Senate on February 12, 1999. The charges, perjury and obstruction of justice, arose from the Monica Lewinsky scandal and Paula Jones law suit. The trial proceedings were largely party-line, with no Democratic Senators voting for conviction and only five Democratic Representatives voting to impeach. In all, 50 senators voted "not guilty," and 50 voted "guilty" on the obstruction charge. The Senate also acquitted on the charge of perjury with 55 votes cast as "not guilty," and 45 votes as "guilty."
source wikipedia so anyone can feel free to look this up, they are a safe site.
Keeping in mind the whole thing was a witch hunt in a majority of Americans eyes at the time, you lose credibility in my eyes with more party-line tactics.
He lied to a grand jury you block head. What part of that don't you understand???!! He deserved to be ousted from the White House.
He lied!!!!HE DID HAVE SEXUAL RELATIONS WITH THAT WOMAN!!!!
i cold care less about Bill's indiscretion. the fact that clinton was impeached for lying about a blowjob while bush has lied to the country about everything and is still sitting pretty says something about where our priorities are. If every person that had an affair and lied about it was fired, we would have a big unemployment problem. I vote on policy because i am aware that most politicians are dirty in one way or another. i am voting for hillary because she is the best person for the job. period.
If you think an obviously bipolar woman is the best person for the job, then you don't want to repair the horrendous foreign policy disaster George Bush put us in. Only a supreme diplomat like Obama can undo that one, and reclaim some shred of dignity left for the U.S. on the world stage. We need our dignity back, and Hitlary has none, period.
