Hillary Clinton’s lead over Barack Obama is narrowing in Pennsylvania, a new Quinnipiac poll shows. She leads 50 – 44, compared to 50-41 in a poll released less than a week ago (the margin of error 2.7 is percent).

Obama has gained among black voters, white voters, men and voters under the age of 45, as well as among voters who rank the economy (49 – 45, from 53 – 39) as the most important issue facing the nation. He leads among voters who say the same about Iraq (51 – 44).

Clinton leads Obama, however by a significant margin (62 – 32) among voters who said health care was their top priority.

An American Research Group poll released yesterday showed the two candidates tied, 45-45.

Yawn. Polls always tighten near election day. Fact is Hillary has the whole Dem machine from this state in her pocket. Doesn't guarantee a victory, but certainly doesn't hurt.

I love how Democratic politics are so......democratic! (sarcasm.) Die already, James Hoffa.

GO OBAMA ........... (not verified) says:

Daily Presidential Tracking Poll
Tuesday, April 08, 2008
.
.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows — for the third time in four days -- Barack Obama with a double digit lead in the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination. … Obama now attracts 51% of the vote while Hillary Clinton earns 40%. That’s the lowest total ever recorded for Clinton since the contest became a two-person race. …..
.
Obama’s support has now been at or above 50% for four straight days…. Prior to this stretch, he had reached the 50% level just once in more than a year of daily tracking polls …. Obama’s gains appear to be more than just statistical noise and actually reflect a modest shift in the campaign nationally…. Still, given the nature of this campaign, it remains to be seen whether or not Obama can retain his newfound lead. Daily tracking results are updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time.

According to the demographics, I should be voting for Hillary Clinton: I'm a white, 60-year-old, highly educated woman from the Northeast. But I'm voting for Obama. I've waited all my life for a viable woman candidate for the presidency, but this is not the right woman. I want a woman of the highest ability and virtue, who would serve as a glorious role model to all young women. Hillary Clinton is not that woman.
She rode into power with her husband, and together they've acquired a long and seriously flawed history of self-serving and secretive financial and political dealings. The most cursory research will prove that true. She started out her political life supporting the racist Barry Goldwater. She is as comfortable with deception and trickery as George Bush. When I hear woman saying, "Oh, but that's how you get things done in Washington," I literally cringe.
I am passionately supporting Barack Obama. He can beat the Republicans; she cannot. Obama has attracted Independents and even Republicans to his camp, and in a general election they would vote for him, but not for Clinton. Clinton voted for the war, and has never apologized for it. Obama has spoken out against it from the beginning. Obama brings us hope--and not just that. Take a serious look at his ideas and experience.
Please, I beg of you, Sisters young and old: wait for the right woman. Then we can be proud.

Please don't close your eyes to the coruption of the Clintons and don't vote for Hillary because she is white. We have been doing that all of our lives and it has not made any difference. Coruption still remain coruption. I beg you my white sisters young and old: wait for the right women. Hillary is not the right women. Vote for Obama, he surely can not do any worse than the last few decades we've seen so far.

Obama, you have the best chance of winning! You are still a young man and will not get confused at 3:00 am in the morning when the phone rings. I am sick and tired of Hillary saying she has more experience than you do, when she is old enough for your mother. I am quite sure you can do the better job. I trust your statements and how you have avoided so many of Hillary’s negative comments.

We need a change!

keep bashing hillary and bill clinton and see whta you accomplish. i originally was going to vote for the democratic nominee no matter who it was, however with all the mud slinging by the obama crew i have decided to vote republican. by the way when is it a bad thing to earn money? clintons pay a tax rate twice what warren buffett or bill gates pays, so why aren't you slamming them as well. The clintons gave over 19% to charity, what did obama give? would you ask obama to drop out if he was 150 delegates behind, and what about florida and michigan, do you really think they are going democratic.

Anonymous (not verified) says:

To Anonymous. The clintons gave 9%, not 19%, and they gave that to there own foundation. Great business move, but not charitable. Regarding Florida and Michigan, there votes not being counted is the fault of State leadership. Both Barack and Hillary both knew, and agreed in writing that any state that voted prior to a specific date would not have their vote counted.

Anonymous (not verified) says:

Both Hillary and BO are great candidates for presidency. But as we see the ongoing corruption in the White House, I am very upset with the way that the Obama campaign is using young people to change the minds of their parents, geering up these young people to vote for someone whom they know so little about his political background, just his likable person as a movie star character and a charmer. We don't need a charmer in the WH just like the CA governor who has no substance at all. We need someone who knows his / her stuff of running the country rather than let someone runs the country instead of himself just carrying the title. If that is the case, we are replaying the history just like the current WH which is run by Karl Rove and Cheny while the President knowing nothing about the outside world except just uttering the prepared words from his editor. Please rethink again and vote from your heart to vote for someone who can provide bread and butter on the table. If you vote for someone who only can say beautiful essays but not knowing anything, you and I are going to suffer for another 4-years and now, for the BO campaign, it is called the blind leading the blind.

I am with you sister, Diane. I'm a 52-year-old educated white woman from New England who has always supported Obama. I saw him the night before the NH primary and that did it for me. I am so tired of the Clintons. I truly hope that Obama does better than expected in PA, Indiana and N. Carolina and that she finally drops out. But mid May we need to have our energies directed at John Mc(Bush)Cain.

John The Baptist (not verified) says:

You silly New Hampshire wench, why would you vote for Obama? I can understand your hatred for Hillary, but why waste your vote on Obama.
I think the smart money is on McCain.

Sam Osborne (not verified) says:

It appears that Clinton has maxed out in her capacity to gain new support. Since the time that the nominating process has capture national attention, Clinton has not been able to improve on her 46% ceiling of support (her to ranking)---she has who she is going to get and no place from which to draw new support. Obama has gone over 50% and has been attracting new participants.

5interiors5 (not verified) says:

Diane Wald---I am always amazed at women like you who say according to demographics that they should be supporting Hillary but that they are supporting Obama. Just because polls put you in a catagory does not say that is how you should vote. You have a right to vote for anyone; that should be your choice. I think you start out that way to make your support of Obama all the more credible. But that is not the case. You state you would vote for a woman but not THIS woman and go on to relate why. Hillary Clinton is not riding on her husband's coattails. She is the most articulate, knowledgable candidate and has worked hard for the privilege of running for president. Obama on the other hand has prematurely entered this race as his right. You focus as all Obamites do on what you see as his positives, ignoring his great negatives, and scrutinize everything Hillary does. Welcome to the female bashing brigade. Be honest with yourself and do not give lame excuses for your vote. Be honest about it; vote for whom you choose without excuses. Hillary as president will see that you are counted as a citizen of the USA and hold only your best interests in mind when signing legislation.

Ross Odom (not verified) says:

Why anyone thinks anything would change with Hillary in charge is crazy. Lobbyists will crush any universal health care "bill" that comes from her White House. Bush tax cuts would be allowed to sunset, therefore further suppressing business incentive. Soldiers would be in Iraq for not 100 years, but long enough.
Nothing is going to change.

Anonymous (not verified) says:

Guys, guys, I think Clinton think its her that attrated the voters. The voters including the republicans are turning to the Demos because of Obamas message of change.

Clinton has been there for two terms with her husband people and GOP didn't enroll in the way they do now. No wonder Pelosi couldn't hold her emotions.

Well as an outsiders watching, I can say this the whole world are laughing at this Demos playing out and taking this Primary too long.

If we are tired and we are only reading and watching, now no wondered the two groups are turning on each others now.

Cheers to Clinton, she achieved her type of politics. Raise doubt and then she have a chance of making a claim. Now that is no good politic. It is more of that term, kitchen sink politic.

Oh by the way, we are watching that court case for the Clinton. More for the eyes thanks.
